Title: [Cooking] Emulate the "Processing Costume" feature for a Life-Treasure Item
Family Name:
Crezcentz

Region (NA/EU): EU

Suggestion/Comments:

Create the first "Life-Treasure Item" which provides the following effect "Use materials from your storage when cooking a known recepie" OR as a basic QoL update-feature when cooking known recepies.
A concept example could be a "treasured" utensil with this effect would add the QoL of not having to look up materials only to transfer from your storage to your inventory every time you want to cook while keeping the benefit of increased weight limit making it a "not-must-have-item", but something to work towards for added utility.

So, basically, you want the processing costume effect for cooking (and hopefully alchemy)? I like your idea, but I think that I would prefer additional costumes. We can already choose between two ghillie costumes and two swimming costumes. Would be nice to see additional costumes for other life skills!

Would also be nice to see costumes for life skills without costumes. :3

If they implement your idea, how would life skillers grind for this treasure item?

I concur.

Before I edited my original post I made the argument for this feature to be added to the Canape Outfit, or a new pearl outfit for cooking/alchemy.
But seeing how reluctant Pearl Abyss have been lately (likely for good reasons) to add any pearl items offering gameplay benefits I changed it to propose a "F2P" option instead, thus a "grindable" treasure item that could provide these QoL benefits.

The previous added "pearl item" that provided QoL improvements I believe was "Ethan the Storage Butler", which allowed you to utilize multiple maids when moving items to/from the storage/CM.
My understanding is that the community outcry for this "basic QoL" to be locked behind a paywall caused the idea to be scrapped and implemented as a free QoL update for everyone, which made me doubt my original idea for this to be added to a new/existing pearl-item outfit.

How one would approach the work to acquire such a Life-Skill "Treasure Item" i cannot say.
I believe the PA Devs would be more then equipped to brainstorm for such an item.
Personally I like the "Probability System" which permeates the world of BDO so one idea would be to add the chance to (once you reach Guru1 cooking/alchemy) recieve "an additional byproduct".
After "x" amount of said byproduct have been collected it could then be exchanged for various pieces of the "Treasure Item" OR liquidated through vendoring.
Another way to approach it would be to have a chance of recieving similar byproduct through Guru Coooking/Alchemy boxes.

There are many ways to approach the method of acquisition for such an item but first the interest for such a feature to be added has to be pitched.

Yeah, to be honest, I was worried that I was going to get flamed for preferring costumes. lol

My hang-up here is that in order for me to support your idea, I need to know how the feature will be implemented. It's a fantastic idea, but... Well, I thought about it, and like you, I thought about byproducts. If people start to mass-craft byproducts, then it may have impacts on the market—spiking some items, killing others. I don't know how I feel about that. I also thought about a workshop craft—same concern. Then, I thought about lightstones, and that might be viable? A lightstone effect? I didn't think about Imperial Delivery, but that might be viable, too.

With combat-oriented treasure items, players grind hundreds of hours, but in my opinion, that has less of an impact on the market than crafters grinding hundreds of hours. I would like to have an item with this effect, but PA would definitely have to heavily consider the implementation.

For now, I'll give a like and be keeping an eye on your thread! Good luck!

-Haha, flaming is a poor thing to reduce oneself in taking part of overall but especially when you're trying to have a constructive discussion.

All ponders and concept-ideas are welcome!

"Then, I thought about lightstones, and that might be viable? A lightstone effect? I didn't think about Imperial Delivery, but that might be viable, too."
The "byproduct"-pitygrind pitch
(if the feature was to be unlocked through some kind of Treasure-item-utensil) was the easiest acquisition-system I could think of those reading might relate to in hopes of igniting a discussion of concepts, and you put a better spin on this then I did which is awesome.
This lightstone idea sounds awesome and is something I'd really like to hear an elaboration of.

In your mind would it be a new lightstone set with the "Use materials from your storage when cooking a known recipe + cooking/alch related stats" created by normal/easily aquirable items/lightstones or slam the topic effect on already existing sets like "Fundamentals of Cooking" in a weekly update or something similar?

"PA would definitely have to heavily consider the implementation."

-I'm with you 100% on this.

Great points man and thanks for adding to it!
Another point from some on the life-disc was related to how such a "storage-crafting" mechanic would be bad for people with static storage layouts.

All for this, Game is p2 convenience in a lot of ways. If you wanna be that person whom doesn't have the time and want things to come a bit quicker, Spend your money. If you're the opposite whom wants to invest loads of times for something that isn't even crazy op in the first place, Why not? I see no issue in this.

In regards to my lightstone idea, I think that a new lightstone is the best option: the new lightstone + existing lightstones = the new lightstone set effect. In my opinion, using an existing lightstone set effect gives players an unfair advantage, but using a new lightstone with existing lightstones may actually be beneficial to the lightstone market—more harder-to-get lightstones in circulation because we would be opening purified lightstones and less easier-to-get lightstones in circulation because we would be making purified lightstones.

In fact, if PA wanted to make it harder, they could—maybe we would be unable to sell the new lightstone or, in the spirit of treasure items, maybe we would have to combine/exchange via quest/etc. certain lightstones to create the new lightstone. It's a flexible option! Actually, they could even add an adventure log (Deve's Encyclopedia II? Dalishain's Encyclopedia?) and maybe we would have to collect some (or all) of the lightstones to get the new lightstone. It's as hard (or as easy) as they deem it should be!

In regards to static storage layouts, I have one—a massive one (three maxed storages, going to probably need four)! We just have to do math and set an appropriate amount of crafts so that we don't use our last items. :3 Cooking and alchemy already have this feature (in fact, I wish that processing had this feature, too).

I'm happy that I've contributed to your idea, btw! :3 Thank you for being open-minded!
