It makes no sense to have the jail system in the game anymore, least of all Hystria and Aakman.
Most new players do not go to any of these spots as they are not very lucrative compared to all the other locations in the game for "new players" which it is meant to protect. Not to mention, every other region just takes away your karma so why make the desert its own special thing that does not apply anywhere else?
It makes no sense why it is still in the game and only applied to a single region.
Or they could make it relevant again.

I would be perfectly fine with that. Just weird to have the karma system everywhere but the desert you get punished and have buffs be wasted working your way out of it.
Personally, I'd rather they did away with forced PvP altogether. (To clarify, that does NOT include duels, tournaments, or node wars!)
Not all the classes are equally suited to such gameplay. The Succession Ranger for example is a pure ranged support type, and isn't built to handle an ambush from someone who forces PvP while standing next to them. To put it simply, a ranger cannot play to their full PvP potential alone. This is not a fair system for player combat, as team play seldom happens outside of node wars and tournaments. Forced PvP also reflects badly on those who participate, and disrupts the enjoyment of players who want to mind their own business. That's simply a recipe for creating a toxic gaming environment.
Agreed.

Instead, I'd apply the same reasoning to every place in BDO.

Unforntunately, the only downside of this is the fact you will get punished for defending your spot from someone who comes in and is griefing your rotation. After some more thinking, I think either removing it entirely or coming up with some kind of revamp of the karma system is probably a better option
The outlaw mark and jail system make sense for kills right outside of a city or town. It does not make sense in the desert.

Ah yes, let's just grief each other by seeing who has the most time to grind over each other for mobs... Valencia's karma system was an attempt to fix pvp back in the old days and it stayed so anyone that wants to grind in that zone, can do so and flag up without a care. Each zone should be more unique, so rather than taking away features, instead suggest how the open-world-pvp can be improved ;)
Ps. Marni's realm is a bad aid and ppl, especially newbies, should learn the DFS etiquette sooner, rather than later / never.

If only there was a solution to this problem.
Wait a minute, there it is: unlimited marni time for all zones.
