to Slumbering Origin

Basic Information

Slumbering Origin armors are the highest-grade (red) gear available in-game and can only be obtained by upgrading Boss armors, Blackstar armors, or by buying it from the Central Market. Currently, only the Helmet & Chest are obtainable, with the Gloves becoming available when Land of Morning Light releases in June 2023. No information exists yet on the Shoes. 

At base, or +0, Slumbering Origin armors have the same stats as Caphras Level 10 (C10) PEN Boss armor or PEN Blackstar armor. They are Enhanced with Flawless Chaotic Black Stones from 0 → PRI → DUO → TRI → TET → PEN. See lower in this guide for how to Enhance it. 

All Slumbering Origin armors follow an… interesting… naming scheme. They do not use PRI, etc in their name; instead they use a descriptive word to denote their level. For example, a PRI Labreska’s Helmet would be called Desperate Labreska’s Helmet.

SET EFFECTS

Labreska’s Helmet

“A helmet made with the horn of Labreska, the Dragon that bore the holy flame of the Ynix to defy a god. The god then doomed her to an abyssal fate by severing her of both wing and limb.”

Special Item Used for Crafting: Flame of Frost

Can be bought, made from 100 Embers of Frost, or obtained as a drop. 

Both Flame of Frost and Embers of Frost drop in Jade Starlight Forest, Mountain of Eternal Winter, and Sherekhan Iron Mine.

To make Flame of Frost from Embers of Frost, use PROCESSING → HEATING.

NPC to Start the Quest: Floki in Jade Starlight Forest

Quest Name: [Labreska’s Helmet] Fragment of Despair

Questlines Required to Finish the Questline:

[Atoraxxion] Syca’s Paradise OR [Crossroad] Mountain of Eternal Winter OR [Journey Begins] Memory Fragment

Once you have 1 of the above Helmets and your Flame of Frost, simply visit Floki in his cave. The questline itself is very easy, but may take an hour depending on if you auto-path on foot or manually run where you’re sent on your horse. 

The “hardest” part will be when you enter an area that has doors. Without giving spoilers, just remember the connection between the doors and rooms is indicated by the corresponding colors, the brazier in each room has the same color as the room, and the colorless door leads back to the first room. 

Fallen God’s Armor

“Armor of the fallen god, defeated by the god of despair, sealed within the Blackstar.”

Special Item Used for Crafting: Flame of Despair

Can be bought, made from 100 Embers of Despair, or obtained as a drop. 

Both Flame of Despair and Embers of Despair drop in Tunkuta from Turos.

To make Flame of Despair from Embers of Despair, use PROCESSING → HEATING.

OR IF YOU GET THE DROP: Item Needed to Combine with Black Caphras Stone: Corrupt Elviayed

--- This is an extremely rare drop from O’dyllita mobs. 

--- Black Caphras Stone is made by using Processing → Manufacturing 1 Remnants of the Rift and 8,260 Caphras Stones. DO NOT COUNT ON GETTING THIS. 

NPC to Start the Quest: Dorin Morgrim in Helm’s Post

Quest Name: [Crafting] Fallen God’s Armor - “X” Armor

Note: “X” = whichever armor/item you are using to make your Fallen God Armor

Example: If you are using Dim Tree Spirit’s Armor, the quest you want to choose is [Crafting] Fallen God’s Armor - Dim Tree Spirit’s Armor

Dahn’s Gloves

(both Accuracy & Evasion versions)

“Gloves of Go Dahn who, in the beginning of time, actualized the resolve to guide humanity on a better path then sought seclusion in Mount Ahshi and became its deity.”

Special Item Used for Crafting: Flame of Hongik

Can be bought, made from 500 Embers of Hongik, or obtained as a drop. 

Both Flame of Hongik and Embers of Hongik drop from Bosses defeated in Black Shrine / Boss Blitz.

To make Flame of Hongik from Embers of Hongik, use PROCESSING → HEATING. 

Embers of Hongik can also be obtained once by exchanging 200 Sangpyeon Coins for 30 Embers, by sending a worker to the Dokkebi Forest node, or by exchanging 1 Crystallized Despair for 2 Embers for an unlimited amount with the NPC Hyunyong in Nampo Harbor.

Crystallized Despair can be obtained as a drop in Elvia Calpheon or bought from the Central Market. You will receive at least 200 Sangpyeon Coins when doing the story for Land of Morning Light, so if you choose to exchange Crystallized Despair for Embers, you will only need 470 Embers, which means you will only need 235 Crystallized Despair.

Gear Needed to Combine with Flame of Hongik (pick 1):

NOTE: You can use a PEN Gloves obtained from Jetina or via Season Boss Coupon. PEN BOSS IS PEN BOSS.

NPC to Start the Quest: The Black Spirit, after completing the story for Land of Morning Light

Quest Name: [Dahn's Gloves] The Name We Miss Dearly, Mihyun!

Very Important Note: There are two versions of Dahn's Gloves, Accuracy and Evasion. 

When you finish the questline, you will receive the Accuracy version if you use Bhegs or the Evasion version if you use Leeburs.

You can exchange one for the other for 200 Scorching Sun Shards with the NPC Hyunyong. Scorching Sun Shards can be obtained as a drop in Elvia Calpheon or bought from the Central Market.

ATOR'S SHOES

(both Accuracy & Evasion versions)

“Shoes worn by Ator, the ancient messenger wielded by King Kabua in his lifetime”

Special Item Used for Crafting: Flame of Resonance

Can be bought, made from 100 Embers of Resonance, or obtained as a drop. 

Both Flame of Resonance and Embers of Resonance drop in Darkseeker's Retreat in Ulukita.
To make Flame of Resonance from Embers of Resonance, use PROCESSING → HEATING. 

Gear Needed to Combine with Flame of Resonance (pick 1):

NPC to Start the Quest: Durgeff in Duvencrune

Quest Name: [Crafting] Ator's Shoes (choose the relevant one for which Shoes you're using)

Very Important Note: There are two versions of Dahn's Gloves, Accuracy and Evasion. 

The shoes you are using will determine which version of Ator's Shoes you receive. For Muskan's, you'll get Evasion Ator. For Blackstar & Urugon's, you'll get Damage Reduction Ator.

You can exchange one for the other for 200 Scorching Sun Shards with the NPC Durgeff. Scorching Sun Shards can be obtained as a drop in Elvia Calpheon or bought from the Central Market.

ENHANCING

As said above, Slumbering Origin armors are Enhanced with Flawless Chaotic Black Stones from 0 → PRI → DUO → TRI → TET → PEN and each Enhancement level adds +3 DP to your stats. 

Flawless Chaotic Black Stones are obtained by PROCESSING → HEATING:

10 Caphras Stone, 1 Sharp Black Crystal Shard, 1 Hard Black Crystal Shard, 1 Mass of Pure Magic

OR by heating:

10 Caphras Stones, 1 Flawless Magical Black Stone

Needed Failstacks / Strategy

Enhancing it will be an exercise in patience. As you can see from the below chart made by Primm, which shows a (TET) Wailing Fallen God going for PEN, a 333FS only has a 0.09% chance of succeeding. Also shown is how many Cron Stones are needed to prevent it downgrading back to (TRI) Silent if it doesn’t succeed (4,000). 

It is recommended to take a relaxed approach when going from Base to PRI to DUO and to NOT use Cron Stones. This is so you can make the higher Failstacks needed for TRI, TET, & PEN. If you’re feeling particularly plucky, you can also not use Cron Stones on TRI. 

Use the failstack you’re comfortable using.

That said, you should enhance your Slumbering Origin pieces as a group. As in, you get them all to DUO or TRI, then one by one get them to TRI/TET, then one by one get them to higher. This is so you “preserve” or “maintain” your DP as much as possible if you aren’t using Cron Stones.

Cron Stone Cost per Level

There are two ways to get Cron Stones: from a Blacksmith such as Tranan Underfoe in Velia, or by melting Outfits you either A) buy yourself or B) buy from Central Market. 

IT IS NOT recommended to buy your Cron Stones raw unless absolutely necessary. This is because melting Outfits is literally cheaper. Blacksmith’s sell them for 2 million silver for just one, while for 840 million silver you can buy a Premium Set and get 621 CS. If you were to buy 621 CS raw, it would cost you 1.242 billion silver – that’s a difference of 402 million! 

Effectively, by melting Outfits, instead of paying 2 million per CS, you will be paying 1,352,657 silver per CS.
