Succession Berserker Changes

 

Hello Pearl Abyss first I would like to thank you for creating Black Desert Online. I have enjoyed this game for as long as I can remember and I hope to keep playing this game for as long as possible. Right now, I would like to write to you concerning Succession Berserker. I know the BDO (Black Desert Online) community has many complaints about this class however the changes to Succession Berserker I am about to request are based on my personal imagination and how I envision the class. However, as a PVP based game, nerfs/buffs are needed and I will also mention my opinion on some changes I believe should be made. I hope that those who read this letter can give creative feedback not centered on nerfs or buffs but how they envision the class.

  • Lava Piercer/ Prime Lava Piercer/Prime Tackling Rock – These are the main movement skills for Succession Berserker. Lave Piercer and Prime: Lava Piercer do not currently cost stamina and I personally believe that right now this is balanced due to Succession Berserker’s core damage skills having some of the highest cooldowns on any class (Prime Fearsome Tyrant -45s, Ancient Wave -20s, Devastation -15s, Raging Thunder 14s). I believe that this should be reversed instead. I believe that the Succession Berserker should at most be able to do the following movement chain before he is out of stamina:  Lava Piercer - Prime Lava Piercer - Prime Tackling Rock -Tackling Rock continued.

 

  • Undertaker/Corpse Storm - I want to start by saying I love Berserker’s grabs. I love the option to change the animations of these grabs and I believe that berserker’s grabs are part of his identity. Undertaker and Corpse Storm in particular have an animation where a character in emergency escape cannot escape the Berserker’s hands. I’m not sure if this design was intentional or if this is a bug however, I do not believe that this is fair. Both of these grab extension enable Berserker to reset the CC counter while grabbing a character. I would love to see Undertaker as an independent skill with a similar animation. However, not as grab extension but a medium AOE bound when the berserker lands on the ground and a slight change to the beginning of the skill that would give the berserker a running start. I think Corpse Storm should be changed to an aggressive tackle or spear tackle in regards to how the Berserker body behavior would be. I think it would be so awesome to be able to tackle a character in PVP after Prime Lava Piecer. I think these two skills should keep all skill stats/buffs/protection/CC currently applied to their respective skill.

 

  • Beastly Wind Slash Flow: Windstorm – I believe that this skill should have a forward guard added. This will allow the forward guard after Prime Beastly Wind Slash to flow smoother after the Prime Lava Piercer effect.

 

  • Prime Frenzied Destroyer – I absolutely love this skill! It is so satisfying to use this skill in PVP in the middle of a combo. However, I prefer this skill to only had the two-handed animation and that in the prime version of this skill the Berserker has his axes hidden as well as giving sudden roar or shout during the motion when he brings his hands down.

 

  • Prime Predatory Hunt – The only request I have with Prime Predatory Hunt is to have the ability to cancel into the fourth jump (explosion jump) like we were able to before the rework of Succession Berserker. This is primarily quality of life change for PVE.  

 

  • Prime Raging Thunder – Sadly I really do not like to use this skill as I do not like the animation. I personally am not a fan of spinning animations in general but specifically for Succession Berserker I do not feel that the spin animation goes with his theme. Please turn this animation into something more beastly in nature for Succession. I understand that this animation is very favored in PVE by Succession Berserkers due to the lack of input required after casting this skill in PVE. As the skill is titled Prime Raging Thunder, I think it would be fitting for the character to have raging behavior while altering between shouts and claw slashes for the same length of time as the original skill.

 

  • Prime Fearsome Tyrant – I love everything about this skill except that I can only use every 45 seconds. Please change the cooldown to be at most 15 seconds. I wouldn’t mind if the heal on this skill was reduced and/or the AOE was reduced. I just want to be able to see this animation more often in PVE and PVP.  

 

  • Absolute: Beast Roar – Berserker currently has three to four abilities that can heal him if you select the skill enhancement Wailing Beast. I think that this is too many heals in his skill kit and that Prime Fearsome Tyrant should have the heal removed as well as the cool down reduced. I also think that Beast Roar should be a skill that attract mobs and buffs Berserker as well as allies for 20 DP. Lastly, I think the skill animation should be change to only be the end of the current animation when berserker is standing up straight while releasing a shockwave while going into Bestial Rage. Since this skill would no longer be a heal, I think the cooldown should be changed to 9 seconds.

 

  • Prime: Ancient Wave – This is another one of my favorite Succession Berserker animations. I truly love everything about this animation including the sounds you’ve attached to this skill. Please change the cooldown to 9 seconds if the Lava Piecer is changed to what I previously mentioned.

 

  • Prime: Devastation – This is my favorite animation out of all the Berserker’s skills. This is the only part of my letter where I will request damage changes. The damage on this skill is pretty good and serves it purpose as an AOE slow if used correctly. However, I wish this skill became the main damaging skill for Succession Berker in both PVE and PVP. When I see this animation, I feel like my character is destroying the very earth itself. I really wish this was a high if not the highest damage ability for Succession Berserker.

 

This concludes my thoughts for this letter. I did not mention 200% BSR (Black Spirit Rage) for Prime: Raging Thunder because I plan to address my thoughts for all 200% BSR to be only PVE skills. In that letter I will address how I believe these skills should have a 1-minute cooldown and not be BSR based. I believe these animations are so cool but are wasted because most aren’t really usable in PVP. Please provide your feedback or animations ideas you’d like to see for this class. Bring back stamina for Succ Zerker. The class should have to use it like all the rest.

Zerker grabs actually already was nerfed into oblivion. They actually need to revert it back to how it was 5 years ago for awakening.

zerker, ESPECIALLY SUCC ZERKER is wildly overtuned and only deserves nerfs.

If the upcoming zerker comes (zerker 2018) then PA should give Valk Train back!!!!
