This game suffers from some players having unfair advantages.
The first is players who edit display settings to play in what is called 'runescape mode'. I understand that some players may have lower-end computers and need to play on lower settings. However, players are editing files outside of the game, and this should be bannable as it is being used to abuse FPS to perform beyond many classes designed intent. The game should check display settings to see if it has been altered, and accounts breaking TOS should be either unable to launch the game or flagged for potential disciplinary action. If PA wants players to use 'runescape mode' settings then they should add them via the in game menu. This can easily be tested by trying to load objects on the launcher and checking for fidelity to the original.
Secondly, FPS should be capped at 144fps. There may be some gameplay issues that require attention, but this is the most fair for players worldwide on all sorts of different machines. Work on fixing problems with classes such as warriors, who may be punished by this change. This will also help ensure that the 'Runescape mode' or similar edits won't ruin the game balance in the future. This will also make it easy to add low-performance modes to the display settings in the game.
Third and final, remove the mouse to move. This does not work well for the game and can often result in players being unable to see or react to other players' actions. I understand some classes may feel this damages their player skill, but if we are all honest, mouse move 'skill' is just the abuse of this mechanic to appear invisibly behind enemies and immediately destroy those targets with grabs. I also understand this isn't just a singular class issue but the point is clear. Fix this through removal and adjust things as needed afterward.

60 fps is bare minimum for smooth motion, 144hz monitors exist an are readily available should be 144fps.
PA cannot forbid editing driver, kernel, third party library settings... More FPS than ~100FPS it does not give an advantage to players because PA servers have average 50-65 Hz Tickrate so players with FPS like 200-300 have big desync. I never play PvP more than 100FPS because then i have incredible desync... More important in BDO is memory bandwidth for RAM and VRAM, and bandwidth of north bridge on your motherboard to bypass Bottleneck effects and micro-freezes.
"RuneScape mode" or "Potato mode" does not modify or affect the integrity of the game's files. The settings are located within the Nvidia drivers and applied by the driver that communicates with the GPU.
60 FPS is a console standard rather than a PC standard and most avid gamers have monitors that are capable of 144 Hz or higher. Limiting the FPS to 60 will degrade the experience of those utilising high refresh rate monitors as the smoothness of their game will decrease. The idea sounds great but in reality it will create more issues than fix problems.
The complete removal of mouse movement for combat is an idea that I fully support as it is a primary cause of visual discrepancies during PvP. Skills can be redesigned to function without mouse movement as we've seen on the newer classes.
The leading cause for desync is most likely the general speed of which classes are able to move at. Before Pearl Abyss considers anything else, it should consider reducing the speed of all the classes to ease the desync as well as improve the feeling of combat; a lot of times you'll die to something you barely had any time to react to or couldn't even see. That is a major issue.

depending on who you play, desync can be an advantage. I dunno if mouse move causes most visual discrepancies (as started in another post,) but I think desync is also a big factor.
I could tell people playing at insane fps because they could dive me and I'd have to actually guess when they were gonna go in because there was no way I could visually react to it. Of course, as a succ ranger, baiting people into diving and missing is the only way you can hope to succeed in combat, so I kinda got good at it. But yeah I def have played people who would just disappear and then they are killing you. That's advantage them imo. Played this guy from philippines, same idea.

I decided to change the frame rate to 144 as a limit after reviewing additional info about limits on human perception, medical conditions, and fps-dropping alongside streaming. This should allow enough overhead that all three items are not an issue. As for average computer capabilities, this seems close to a standard for machines made within the last 3 years.
Addressing the issue of GPU/kernel edits affecting game visuals, it's crucial to maintain a fair gaming environment. It's not about 'I'm not cheating; my GPU is cheating.' Instead, I propose that PA demonstrates how these edits can be easily tested. By incorporating these tests into the launcher, we can prevent the game from launching if any unauthorized edits are detected. This solution not only mitigates the risk of punishments but also ensures a level playing field for all gamers.
It's a joke, right? Maybe in next post you will suggest to ban every account that will log in on computer with better gpu/cpu/memory than you?
180hz/240hz monitors are becoming a standard for gamers. I don't know anyone who bought monitor with less than 140hz in last 5 years.
Normaly I have ~200 fps on remastered mode, if fps drops below 150 I see huge difference in gameplay.
Nah reposting this clown shit again... PA HELLO?!
Absolutely NOT. Do you think people who play League of Legends/Dota 2 complain other players have 300Hz displays and can get that 10ms faster response to kill them? NO!
Regardless of PA's own graphics engine, punishing players who have better equipment is not the solution.
Somewhere i read that PA wants to introduce attack frequency reduce update and i think that should resolve the problem with desync.
BTW. That engine is really optimalized compare to possibilities, I can play PvP on laptops with old geforce 840m and integrated intel 4400.
