Suggestions/Comments:
Simply make the Fairy Light a permanent toggle, and add a checkbox next to the toggle that says "Night Only" so that, when checked and toggle switch is on, it automatically deactivates during the day and activates at night.
This gives players control over when the light is on or off, but adds the convenience of not having to click the toggle.
Loving all the QoL changes! Keep 'em coming!

The thing is - sometimes you are going into a cave/dark area during the day. Maybe if it just auto-turned on in locations considered dark enough for the fairy light?
