Suggestions/Comments: The original intent behind the Rich Merchant Ring was to get players to engage with the inland Trading mechanic (you know, the ones with perishable goods). Specifically, players had a very low chance of obtaining a ring piece based on the town they were trading with & the type of trade item they were selling. Now that inland Trading has been patched out of the game, the only actual way to assemble a Rich Merchant Ring is by PVE combat. It really doesn't make any sense for a treasure item originally based on Trading to only be obtainable through combat. Please allow players to get a chance at assembling the ring through Bartering, the only other mechanic remotely close to Trading. There are four possible implementations: 1. Much like the original Trading method, players get a very low chance of obtaining a ring piece for each barter attempt made. 2. Make any of the 5 ring pieces appear as Special Barter items (like Garmoth's Heart). 3. Make any of the 5 ring pieces appear as low-probability normal barters (like Tear of the Ocean). 4. Allow all 5 merchant ring pieces (or the Rich Merchant Ring itself) to be purchasable via Crow Coin (like the Ebenruth Nol, which costs 2 million crow coin). Would greatly prefer option #4 as a "flavor win" (i.e., the player becomes a rich merchant by accumulating that many crow coins), but that is ultimately up to the discretion of the devs and/or user feedback from this thread. |
