I never really combat grind. I do a lot of sailing and a fair amount of life skilling and below are some options I would love to be implemented
1. Selling carracks - this was mentioned ages ago by the devs but hasnt been implemented yet. This would be a good way for ship builders who dont grind to make some cash.
1a. as also been mentioned before by devs the whole first mate system
2. Better Sailor organizing and UI. - Ability to name them yourself would be good and to group them. To lock the ones you want to stop from accidently firing.
3. Stack T5 Materials - Im a bit in 2 minds about this one but I think this would greatly help people getting into sailing that dont have the storage in there designated port.
4. Increase T5 sale price to make it more inline with combat. Appreciate you dont want it matching combat but at least raise the time/cash ration to about 70% of combat grinding would be nice.
5. New ships - been a while since we had a new ship and I dont count the time limited epheria one. Maybe a new Tier with a combat one with more cannons but super low weight. a trader one with no cannons whatsoever. a speed one with less cannons then the combat and less weight but more speed. Also different looking aswell.
6. Redesign the carracks so they actually look more different to each other
7. Id like to see a strong enemy npc carrack. Like one that is on its own no mobs but is on par with say a green maxed carrack. With some AI so its a tough battle it kites it runs away when weak. Lets really put our valors to the test
8. Crystals drop rate increase or spread them out among the SMH and not just pirates.
9. Fishing from carracks. Maybe this could be one of the new ships. Lightly armoured, weaponed and a small deck at back for fishing from.
10. An island that is like each players private instanced island(bit like entering a home) That we can invest CP in and get buildings and upgrade our private wharf. Upgrades could be like a building which if you have it will auto repair your ship when in range, Auto renew supplies, a sailor tavern, an island specific manor for use to put our pirate spoils in. Oh and our sailors wondering around the island like our pets do when at a residence. There could be a building you make/invest in that advises on which trades to make with your current barter lists. Like you set limits on what you want and the number you want to maintain and it highlight them in the barter list.
11 it really bothers me that at a full blue maxed weight, with max parrot weight and max weight crystal you cant do a full 10 T2 > T3 trade. Add a slight weight buff somewhere so when someone goes to the trouble of getting the max weight possible they can do a full trade. To do it youd have to get rid of basically all sailors. Needs an extra 1710 weight to be able to do it.
Àll great suggestions but you CAN fish from a carrack already. You can't harpoon though but it's long dead content anyway (still i'm in the process of trying to get all fish knowledges which means i have to harpoon and it's annoying I can't use a carrack for it)
I'm almost certain that the price we can sell the carrack with (if/when that ever comes to be reality) won't be worth the mats, effort and time. But hey, maybe we are gonna be surprised positively!
Really like the base idea of #10. Would be cool alternative for manor(s) :)
what would be nice if Black desert even cared about sailing people that know 90% of your time is sailing and get like almost no xp from sailing while your brtering and that what need to really change

Bartering is not sailing. If you want to gain sailing exp, go sailing -- and do all the dailies.
selling carracks..cool cool Id like to add to that post, thats a warning message that upon upgrading said boat to a carrack that Your gear you just worked so hard to make, then +10? goes byebye and you have a naked boat as PA isnt done trying to make you hate sea content even more by locking green gear behind 10k crow coins Per piece. kinda sucks

so i guess what you saying is then the people that ride in circle on a horse are not traning there horse so people that barter inland and out are not really sailing so people on horse should not get any xp eather then

Nope.
What I'm saying is it appears the amount of exp you get from sailing depends on the area in which you do the sailing. Think of it like this, you get more exp grinding at Gyfin Underground than you do grinding at Polly's. The experience you receive is probably on scale with the danger you face. Sailing between islands is not dangerous at all. I've never seen a cyclone or Hollow Maretta amongst the islands LOL. Autopathing seems to give even less experience, which is what 99.9999999% of barterers do. You can set an autopath to do a barter and then run to the store and know that you will arrive safely. Try doing that in Margoria.
well I am not one of the 99% that do auto path i sale my ship and you had to sail you ship when you first started out because you be sunk by pirates. Back when we first started you could kill a ship and not go red not like it is now and they only gave sailing xp for inland water only a couple years ago and what they gave wasa not much. Still sailing xp does not come close to the amount of time spent sailing.
