Can we improve Party Play or make it more enjoyable? A few Ideas to Improve Group Content in BDO

I’ve been playing BDO for a while now, and I really love the combat and the freedom of the open world. But... I feel like the game could use some improvements to party content. Right now, BDO is very solo-friendly, but having more engaging and rewarding multiplayer options could really enhance the experience, especially for those who enjoy group play. I've come up with a few ideas that I think could make party content more enjoyable and rewarding, everything is a work in progress, but lets start:

More Instanced Dungeons and Raids

Building off Atoraxxion, I’d love to see more instanced dungeons or even multi-phase raids. It would be amazing to have mechanics that require real teamwork, like dedicated tanking, healing, and DPS roles (I know we don't have roles in BDO, but some classes are better at tanking or healing then others, which I think could be used more). This could give party play more weight and depth, which would be a big win for players enjoying structured PvE.

Small-Group Content

Adding more small-group dungeons (3-5 players) that require specific roles could help make party play more meaningful. BDO has such a unique variety of classes, and these types of dungeons would let players explore class synergies that solo grinding doesn’t bring out.

Dynamic World Events for Groups

It would be great to see more dynamic world events in high-traffic areas. Events like defending a town, escorting NPCs, or taking down a powerful roaming boss could create more reasons to party up. If these events scaled in difficulty based on the number of players participating, they’d stay challenging and engaging for everyone involved.

Scaling Grind Spots for Small Parties

One thing that would help a lot is adding more grind spots that scale up to allow 3-man parties, so more areas in the world could be used for group play. Many of the best spots are only ideal for solo grinding, which limits the options for groups who want to farm together. Adding more spots where loot, XP, and mob difficulty scale based on the number of party members would make group grinding more fun and viable.

Exclusive Rewards for Party Play

Offering exclusive rewards for completing group activities—such as rare items, cosmetics, or even just enhanced loot—would encourage players to join parties. A "party buff" that boosts loot drops or experience while grinding in a group would make partying up more attractive.

PvPvE Content for Small Teams

Adding a PvPvE mode, where small teams could battle both mobs and other teams, could be a really fun way to combine PvE and PvP. Maybe teams could race or compete for objectives within the same instance, creating exciting and competitive gameplay that requires coordination.

Guild Raids with Difficulty Levels

Guilds are such a big part of BDO, and adding more PvE content for guilds would be awesome. Guild Raids with increasing difficulty could give members more reasons to work together and strategize. A leaderboard or rewards for clearing high-level raids would add friendly competition between guilds, too.

Class-Specific Party Skills

It would be interesting to see classes get unique abilities that only activate in party settings. These skills could offer buffs that benefit the whole group, like temporary attack or defense boosts. This would encourage players to experiment with different party compositions and make group play more dynamic.

More Engaging World Boss Mechanics

World bosses are fun, but I think they could be even better with multi-phase fights or environmental interactions that require teamwork. For example, bosses could have phases that require specific strategies or reward parties that coordinate attacks. This would make world boss battles more exciting and give players a reason to work together.

These are just a few ideas that I think could help improve players experience in BDO. It's an amazing game, but adding more depth to the group content would make it feel even more alive.

A good mmorpg should have balance  between solo  and party content to not punish people do content that they dislike.  In bdo we sadly have full 99.99% solo content and it is  very boring.

I completely agree with you. Most of my friends or acquaintances stop playing because the game is fully autistic. It wouldn't cost anything to add the option to grind in the grinding zones either solo or in a group of three, which would make it much more fun and attract more players to the game.

No party! Make it full cooperative grinding. If i'm grinding and some1 else comes let us both get maxim loot. Unleash the loot. I'm not being sarcastic or anything. It really is the best thing they can do after they gutted the old system.

edit: ffs don't suggest they add "mechanics" in this game they clearly suck so much at that. this aint wow. we don't need m+ in bdo but done infinetly worse.

One big improvement would be if they would overhaul the rewards for solo & group boss shrines. It's cool content, but it's pretty much just a "once a week" thing with your guild group because of the current reward system.

My idea here is, they could give you small (but still decent) rewards daily based on a daily performance rank and a big reward weekly based on your Individual overall performance throughout the week across all parties you have joined. Also add more Party Boss Shrines for more diversity.

That would give much more weight to group play and overall participation throughout the week.

All in all, content that has rewards only once a week is pretty much shit and has really low participation. they really gotta rethink those weekly rewards stuff.

All content should be inclusive: there should be no penalties for grinding solo, or in groups.  Group grinding should just make the experience more enjoyable, such as reward bonuses, exp bonuses or such.

Some people like to play solo and should not be punished by gated content.

Some people love to play in groups and should not be punished by exp and loot nerfs.

I've had my fill of PA trying to cater to one group specifically at the expense of another, or catering to a group in janky, stupid ways.

One thing that would help is if the "wifi range" of sharing XP when in a group was increased in areas where you can one-shot mobs.  That way we can spread out a bit more and still get the benefit of being in a group.

The proper way to do this is called an Organic Party system.  It has very specific requirements and any group system that does not adhere to them generally leads to instant failure.

Group Spots: Instant failure.  This leads to party finding mechanisms and wasting everyones time.  It's generally unsuitable for solo play and often duo.  It ONLY works when the entire party is in the same location and everyone is ready.

Organic Parties: The correct way.  When players encounter each other they group up because the overall gain will be slightly better.  This is currently impossible in BDO because the only thing that matters is $$$$$$ equipment $$$$$$.  So the system would need to force increased silver/hr per player.

The reason why the organic system is so much more powerful than party dungeons, or party matching is the efficiency.  I use this system every day and people are free to join and leave at any time.  Because the content can be solo'd given the proper stats the game play never halts.  You can choose to solo/duo/full party at any time.

One of the most critical aspects and the biggest danger is NOT destroying solo play.  There where a massive amount of games in the past that absolutely destroyed their games this way.  As soon as you group and gain 300% value you will NEVER want to play solo again.  The benefit has to be minimal only.  Enough that even a 5-10% benefit is simply more per hour.

The ability to kill more and faster along is often enough without an actual % bonus.  However, BDO is NOT designed for this either.  The entire game should have been revamped to remove the 1 shot pack meta.  Thus if your killing much slower a group has signifcant value.  You should only be thrasing entire rotations with a full party.  A solo player should simply not be as efficient although they can handle the area.
