One of the best options is to reduce the amount of resources needed to reach high-end gear (in other words, cut in half the time required to reach top-tier equipment). It may sound silly, but it’s not; as of 2024, very few players are willing to play 8 hours a day for 3 months to get a single piece of gear without seeing any improvement. This is incredibly frustrating. We lose sight of the game's most important aspect, which is PvP. Most players spend about 80–90% of their time in PvE, leaving only 10% for the best content the game has to offer.

What would be the result of this adjustment?

First, there would be no need to give out items with every update (as happened with the BS), which devalued all the time and effort players had put in to obtain it.

Second, it would make the game more appealing to casual players, who would now see high-end gear as something attainable.

Third, it would attract more players by allowing them to develop multiple builds, adapting their setup for PvP based on different situations. Currently, the average player can only focus on one type of build, limiting any counter options against other players with evasion/DR setups.

With upcoming buffs to afk and semi-afk income sources, PA is doing something to address this problem. While it may still take hundreds of hours to get endgame gear, at least you will not have to grind in circles for all that time, instead being able to do a greater range of activities for the silver. Since most people posting on the forums are the players who have played thousands of hours, they are not particularly interested in policies that might attract new players by making things easier and faster for players. However we are seeing such changes from PA, with potions being easier to get, Patriolio selling treasures, and the upcoming special barters giving Treasure Map of a Sailor sometimes, making getting Nol easier, for example.

lol.

So what are the people who already have the best gear in half the time do while casual players putting in maybe an hour of grind a day or two are catching up? Twiddle their thumbs and stare at their screen. Admire their character which has already got the best gear in a month instead of several months? Not minding the Sov. stuff where they messed up, they ideally want to make the gear obtaining journey a long adventure.

There is no way that they will let go of the players who spend hours into it, get the gear. And let them quit because they got the best gear way faster than the casuals. Guess what? They'd release NEW gear again, the pace of the game is not dictated by the casuals but always by the hardcore players who are diehard addicts of the game. And the dev's never want them to quit because they're their core. This means that once they're done, they'd run you through a new hamster wheel and now the gear will last half the time it did compared to, before another set of new gear is out.

No, thanks. If I wanted that type of a setup where I need to work towards and grind a new set of gear every 3 months then I'd have kept playing the MMO's that I already was. I like this system better. Mainly because even if I am only at the mid-tier gear level and not super high end, I am still somewhat relevant and able to enjoy most of the PVE content and also have some sort of a presence PVP wise. Rather than seeing a revamp of the armors and weapons every 3 months. The current system where the gear lasts a long time is one of its major attractions.

And the 10% in your words, PVP is the major attraction. Okay, yes PVP is a major attraction because the combat is fun and whatnot. I'll give it to you but why do you need all that high end gear to do the PVP content. All the PVP content is now mostly capped. There is no open World PVP right now except GVG's and G-league. But people aren't doing that anymore lately.

You want to excel at open World PVP but you don't want to put the time and effort into it because you're too casual. Why not just play League where you ramp up your gear with everyone on the rifit in 45 minutes before going back to 0 for the next match and redoing it again or another MMO that gives you a short period of time. It usually lets you gear up as much as you want within 3 months before making you redo it over. Keep in mind, I don't have the best gear nor do I grind 9 hours a day. Far from it, I'm casual like you too. But I am looking at the bigger picture. You change this into a casual gearing up game and the time between the hamster wheels setting you up for a new run is going to drastically get reduced, hell naw.

More players at end game would be the most fun. Swipe economy drives away players past a point and the e-cronemy is already a failing design. PA may have bought time with their new gear but I see the issue through their crafty game designs. Improving on this aspect would allow them to focus more on the end game, revitalizing it and the ensuring the games continued vitality.

Hopefully with return of features such as open world pvp, shai rework, etc.
