Last night and the night before I've came back to my PC in the morning finding BDO not running. Usually when the game disconnects it is left running with the disconnect notice still up but in these last 2 cases the game is just gone. Judging by Heidel being almost completely empty when I logged back in it seems to be a rather wide-spread issue.

Any1 knows whats going on?

The game does not stay open with the disconnect message anymore. The game now closes itself when it gets a disconnect.

This was changed last week or maybe a few weeks before.

You refering to this one from the latest patch?

(It doesnt have a disconnect button btw it only has and End game button)

If its true as you say that the game shuts down now after it fails to reconnect then some EU-wide internet hiccups would explain it all. The issue didnt repeat for a 3rd night in a row though so might not be anything to worry about.

I do however fail to see the point of this change. Why do I need a pop-up sign telling me that I have been disconnected then I have to wait for ~1min to get to the actually disconnected screen with the reconnecting message where I have to wait again for a possible reconnect.

Seems they just added an extra step with no purpose. Maybe im missing something.

I have a forced reconnect (forced by my provider) once a week and after the last two reconnects the game was closed instead of the black "you have been disconnected" screen.

The difference between the disconnect screen and the client close is not much if it happens while you are active.

But if you are afk the new method is better for your PC and your power consumption.

you can try and disable power saving for your network adapter. I had the problem in the past, that BDO disconnected when minimized oder night and disabling power saving helped.

Control Panel -> Network and Internet -> Network Connections

right click your network adapter -> Properties -> Configure... -> Power Management -> uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power

For some reason, I had it enabled and no major issues. In the past, I had to disable power saving to not loose connections.

I dont think thats the issue but cant hurt turning it off I suppose.

Regarding what Megta said about the game shutting itself off after a disconnect now is quite ironic if true since they made the opposite change to the relog crashes we used to have. Now the game goes back to main menu on a failed character swap and shows a disconnect button ontop of it rather than a crash to desktop like it used to be.
