Premise - I love fishing. In the past, this was setting my fishing alt in Velia for relics and often times going around local hotspots when I felt like it. It did not feel very rewarding but it was fun. While my BDO fished AFK, I'd either sleep or play other fishing games. If I was 'actively' fishing, I'd watch a show. Back in 2016 I'd hang out with friends on my raft and we would fish and chat in-game as a 'multiplayer' activity.

Context - Skip to modern day BDO. More prize fish have been added and this lifeskill has flourished a lot more. Mastery min-maxing, pixel scratching on maps, tracking in spreadsheets within communities.. It's fantastic! But one thing (of many, mind you - but one post per feedback right?) stays in the past, and it's the fishing chair slot.

Problem - Blue Grade Fishing chair durability is just far too little for long term fishers. It is also troublesome to have to keep swapping them out when the convenience of your other gear is way easier.  You lose Mastery on it breaking and also auto-fish speed. Additionally, when your fishing chair dies, you also reset the check-mark for 'Do not board Adventurers Ships'. You risk being scooped up! While active fishing, it also adds on animation speed while equipped vs standing without one on - as well as not allowing you to fish unless you unequip when it runs out of Durability, adding to the 'admin time'.

Proposal - Manos Fishing Chair. Repairable. Enhanceable, and with every enhancement it gets more durability for a maxiumum of 300 (Base 200+100) at V (PEN). Mastery +150 fixed stat. -5% Auto Fishing time fixed stat. This is so you can convenience-equip it +0 much like Manos crop. 'Shorter' animation for active fishing (different chair appearance opportunity?).

Bottom line - The aim is to not make it massively OP vs the free blue chairs, so as to not dimish their short term convenience for casual fishers, hence the fixed Auto Fishing time stat. The 'shorter' fishing animation speed is to encourage use for active fishing, making the blue chairs still a viable option for casual AFK-only use.

Obtainable - 100 Discarded glass bottles = 1 base Manos chair. Enhanced like the sailing log/horse crop, as it takes the same slot.

Final thoughts - There is so much more we can do to elevate/garner more interest for fishing without inherently breaking it's current balance. The format for forums are strict so this is why I have chosen the fishing chair for this post. We are missing the matching Red tier of Green (Loggia) > Blue (Crio) > Red (Manos) for this slot vs the clothing and accessory slots. It would be great if these logs/crops/chairs were also inside the family-wide Lifeskill gearwheel, but I suppose you could argue that is another post-worth of suggestion.

Please, also add this always be checked in by default, not depending on if you have just switched channel, or rod, or chair!

Looks like Manos Fishing Chair is coming soon! We will see if it fulfills the hopes of the playerbase or not soon enough.
