Rework buffing. Current design of 15-60-120 minute buffs is not a good system and it feels wasteful to do less than 1 hour of grinding.

Re-bumping this because they announced changes. This system should be implemented to work in tandem with the upcoming changes to sheet ap and stats.

Hello. I think I've come up with a somewhat elegant solution to this problem. To me, there are two main problems:

* Grind location ap requirements are not clear looking at sheet ap. Your power level varies substantially from consumables. To manually test buff values in game, you have to waste consumables, do the math, or use a third party calculator.

* Because of various buff timers and most loot buffs being 1-2 hours, you feel "locked in" to grinding for at least that hour. Leaving before that hour is up and wasting buffs feels bad.

So what can fix this?

Introducing the "Buff Manager" a new centralized location for managing your consumables.

While this looks pretty similar to continuous care, it behaves in a much more intuitive way gameplay-wise. You can add stacks of consumables to it, then simply by selecting them, they will always be applied to your character (so you can check your total stats without wasting any resources). While idle, the duration of these does not decrease, but as soon as you start grinding, it will consume 1 minute of each item, and then drain more as you grind. If you have to do something, you can just leave and only waste the remaining minute of buffs.

I think a system like this would help a ton with engagement and open up more design opportunities for new content. Most of the game is either completely afk or complete focus. This would give developers a way to create "spaced-out" content with downtime and not have players feel like they are wasting resources.

This can be expanded to include church buffs, furniture, and more. Although I think those should all be removed and simplified to just food, draughts, and perfumes. There are far too many buffs in the game and narrowing it down to just a single window and immediately being able to see how strong you are would be a huge step in the right direction.

This is a great suggestion. I hope to see this in the game sooner than later.

On the same note, these 120, 180, etc.-minute buffs are more obnoxious than they are helpful. I do not want to grind for 2 or 3 hours straight with no break. Most people don't. Most people can't. "Just switch characters to preserve the buff"... No.

Yeah, to me they read "1 hour" no matter what. I'm not going 3 hours straight lol.

Hello. I think I've come up with a somewhat elegant solution to this problem. To me, the current problems are:

* Grind location ap requirements are not clear. This is because a large portion of damage comes from consumables. Most people calculate this on 3rd party platforms.

I believe this can be seen in game when you look at "Monster Zone Info." It will list AP and DP recommended and it will also say "My Stats." If you notice, there is a rotating arrow symbol - click it and it will tell you what your actual stats are. This will update with buffs that you apply. People tend to be used to what they are used to, though.

Personally, I wish buffs were at our leisure. It's not healthy to grind for multiple hours straight. I think they only changed the dehkia fuel consumption for Oluns even though it's an issue for every tower spot. Even switching off of a character is a short-sighted solution as someone could be there when you return. Now I need another character just to scout the spot on top of my grinding character or waste time.

instant upvote, this would probably be one if not the biggest QoL for 2025 if they even consider developing this

Simply add a "Pause/Activate Buff" button. Nothing else needed. You finish your hour, you turn off your buffs, then do all your housekeeping without watching your 2 hour buff drop to 55 min, and know you'll have to pop it again before your 2nd hour ends.

I thought about this a bit, but it is one of those bandaid solutions that doesn't give you much freedom, unless there is some sort of buff swapper as well. If you just pause your buffs, and you had an agris coin going or something. You can't just go do life skilling or a spot where you wouldn't use a coin, or if you want to go do some pvp. Adding a pause button only solves the issue for someone who is just going to go back to that exact same content. I think my idea gives players a lot more freedom.

They also should add pre-sets for the buff manager,

make buffs which only apply directly to character (church buffs, tent etc.) buyable as items,

and making buff manager family wide accessable (if you put buffs in on one character, your whole family has access to them).

Honestly a good inplemented buff manager would be the best QoL (for me and alot of  others actualy a content) update the game needs.

I hope this posts gets alot of attention

I'll probably add that to the mock up.

The intention was for it to be family wide and just be a "1 stop shop" sort of interface.

I really hope so. I have quite a few other ideas for system overhauls, but this one is probably the simplest. Gotta keep the post bumped so maybe the dev team will see it.
