Rotate our mouse? whose dumb idea was that. Anyway, the point is, sure, a lot of the time it works, and sometimes no matter how  much i fucking try to rotate my goddamn mouse like a goddamn madman it just wont do anythiong (yes i know you rotate it both ways) the fish does as it goddamn pleases. I mean what was goddamn wrong with just having us mash either of the mouse buttons?  This is garbage.  I failed like easily ten times so far by no fault of my own and since we have limited amounts of fishing rods, this blows.

You can buy, as far as I know, infinite use for 10k(I believe) each from Lando. Rotating your mouse is actually similar to the same motion you make when fishing with a rod irl, though backwards from what I am used to. The fish needs to be damn near dead center. If it is in the upper/lower region of the middle area, it isn't in the right spot (this part is very annoying). Sometimes the fish does seem to ignore what you're doing, although I have found that rotating slower can be more effective than fast (also counter intuitive). I enjoyed it for about 5 minutes then was like yupp just another chore. Thankfully, 30 was enough to buy all the weeklies and half the one time trades. 

Really not sure how you could have an issue with it, unless your ping is just awful.

no he is right sometimes no matter how hard you spin that fish isnt staying in middle its very dumb just keep it as a rotation mechanic but make it easier to reel/unwind

I don't know, I got 65 event fishes and never had an issue making the mini-game.

Sometimes, I even had to stop spinning because the fish was going in the right direction.

But the mini game is not THAT fun, for sure. 

I skip events like this.  life is too short.

Use a touchpad or trackball, if you have them.

yeah its kinda lackluster even the snowboarding was a let down
