With the sailing content updates (which I applaud, happy to see this content finally got some attention),
why not create a permanent Explorer's Compass?
It can be both: farmed ingame, for example similar as Archeologists's Map or much harder, and be purchased at the Pearl shop.

It can't be used when you're carrying trade items though.

That only refers to its teleport function. It still functions as a permanent compass.

If you are doing the Iliya dailies for barter, you will get a compass part per day, so every 3 days you can make a compass that lasts 3 days.

they announced at FESTA that they are adding sailor function slots to carracks, the new first mate sailor will give compass function
