Suggestion(s)/Comment(s): Make Karma loss area based rather than gear based.

We had a discussion about karma and found it that it being this hard to get back simply cus of karma bombing. I was temted to just say "screw the karma system doesnt really work", but was brought to my attention that people liked it cus it changed gameplay. So to protect the people actually doing PvP, why not make the Karma loss based on the area you are in?

If you are in DSR or Tungrad Ruins and farming you have the gear to fight. If you dont have the gear? why are you there? stop poking the bear.
Most pvp is engaged by people grinding and start punching each other and sometimes that turn into GvG and then people get hurt and start karma bombing.
My stance is that you lost, not the end of the world just leave. If you really wanna finish your hour after losing, marni is a good choice.

Would say region but Olun's Valley and Salanar Pond (Deer hunting) is an example of where region would be a problem.
But there is the areas nodes (the onse that have the investment bonuses) they could use, so they dont have to make the borders for scratch.

This way the "Toxic" Reds (not all reds) that grind lifeskillers and farming horseriders outside Heidel are gonna be perma red and have to live with those dangers, While people enjoying pvp and just fighing for thier spots have minimal karma losses. If you went red from pvp it should have taken sometime instead of "damn 5 people swapped gear and vaporized 3h of my life".

Also arsha, all bets are of. if you there 0 karma loss for anything.

Not bad idea!  That would actually cure the "non toxic" reds a bit too, since as u say, it'd take some pvp and kills to get really far with negative karma in most contested spots.
I agree that those who just pray on afk lifeskillers for fun aren't really looking for pvp challange, tho from the other side thanks to these players we can see how many "holes" there are in the system regarding protection of non-pvp community xD

I'd say two things have to happen yet along that.
1st they need to make marni realm available for all grindspots cos as it is now ulukita's or lifeskill spots don't have it yet, then people who  don't wanna bother with pvp contest can still have their share of cake.

2nd PA has to throw the skill preset revamp, which I think they mentioned in dev video from like month ago. 
We will have to see yet if we get option where u won't have to go and manually swap your presets between pve/pvp, so people as well in normal servers and especially Arsha, don't have to feel silly while trying to balance the fun and risk between grind profit and fair pvp readiness regarding skill and addon presets. 

I know that auto-preset swap will for sure work between open world and stuff like AoS or RBF, so I hope the new preset system will be naturally able to distinguish if we are fighting vs mobs or we got into a pvp situation and we d like the pve addons to be overriden with pvp in that certain moment.

The problem with Marni and plentiful servers is they always offer an instanced escape and an empty boring world.

Many ppl forget (or are too new) that originally places like miru forest, stars end and Elvia realm or turos (especially boss spawns) were heavily contested.

The point of such PvP was to take limited resources, and gvgs started over such things.

You'd also had incentive to get gear for it.

And before the usual "Go Arsha" arrives, EU Arsha is barely active with complaining pve bots.

You can't have an ow PvP game then let people hide or switch anytime they get a bloody nose.

My counter proposal is current spots remain, but create spots where risk Vs reward in a free PvP zone of any kind grants far higher returns.

(Think how the desert functions, but way better)

Demon realm promises potential, but I'm dubious they won't muck it up.

Region based karma as a concept isn't bad, however I believe they need to rethink how reds and blues should interact and add some pros and cons to such encounters.

Bounty hunts werent a terrible idea, given it's own modest currency with appropriate titles for each faction.

Add in some daily quests for killers and hunters like Muiquun did. (Only rewards better than one carrot like now!)

Endgame spots are balanced around running draught/perfume. Draught/perfume are lost upon death. Because of these two factors, people typically avoid pvp at endgame spots, and would rather have marni realm instead of frequently losing buffs.

 if 30mil out of a 2b grindspot bothers you that much you could swap channels =)

Get your math right cos it screams "I have no idea about what I'm talking" x) when spot is contested u lose much more, while u can't swap ( gq locked) or all is full anyway.

Before any new changes to the karma system are implemented, the family wide karma system needs to be reverted to the character system. Full stop. This change was completely unnecessary and unacceptable.

These days perfume + draught is 50 million (at least on NA); apart from that having to frequently fight over a spot reduces grind efficiency enough so that you'd likely make more silver going to a lower level, uncontested spot.
