Every single Awakening Ranger main including Greeds, who was featured on the launcher for his PvP guide for the class and is currently #1 Awakening Ranger on the NA server, advised against these Awakening Ranger changes. Now look at where we are, since PA has ignored us yet again.
- We are unable to reliably control our movement / are incapable of precise movement without mouse moving thanks to the Breezy Blade and Rushing Wind changes.
- We lost our last Super Armor stamina regeneration skill (Breezy Blade) when all other classes are capable of regenerating stamina in Super Armors/iframes, and while we had half the stamina of Awakening Sage. In the same month, Awakening Sage was given a stamina buff. Now we have to resort to S Blocking.
- We cannot Breezy Blade near people because it cuts the distance too short. Given that PA wants us to use Breezy Blade in situations where we originally would have used Rushing Wind, it is absolutely absurd that we have to put up with it not even working as intended.
- The one upside of the update was the ability to use Winds of Prairie to swap to Awakening from our bow, but not even that is reliable. When using it off hotbar, considering that the input is shift space and incredibly annoying, it creates a massive unprotected gap.
- Cold Blade core skill is broken. Instead of applying Forward Guard properly, you actually have to use a Forward Guard skill to activate the core's Forward Guard. Pathetic.
- Our C swap goes on cooldown from using our Awakening to bow swap, Blasting Gust. Utter stupidity.
- Our mana regeneration skill no longer provides mana (Regeneration).
- We are forced to rely on stamina-heavy skills due to the Rushing Wind change for our movement, despite not having a single properly protected way to regenerate stamina. Lingering in a Forward Guard or S Block for stamina is for a meta long gone considering how often new classes port behind you.
All of these changes made our class more difficult, contrary to the goal of this patch. It is actually unplayable now, after being mediocre in nearly every aspect of the game except dueling, but there was no purpose to play it anyway because Awakening Tamer will forever be everything Awakening Ranger is but better and with real care from developers. Whoever came up with this change, kindly remove yourself from handling future Awakening Ranger development. In fact, it may be smart for you to never have a say in PvP class balance ever again.
Issues that still have not been addressed about the class:
- Wind Explosion Shot character hitbox does not properly sync with the animation.
- Blasting Gust consumes double stamina when used while on cooldown.
- Hit stutter on Spirit's Haven, Waltz of the Wind, successful grab animations, and Evasive Explosive Shot.
- The fact that we are equally as tanky as our ranged counterpart, despite being a melee class. We die standing regularly through Super Armor. Why does Dosa get separate Super Armor damage reduction for his specs and not Ranger when Ranger specs have polar opposite playstyles?
- The fact that we cannot properly apply pressure 90% of the time due to how little distance our movement rotation travels and how much* (corrected typo) stamina those skills consume with no reliable stamina regeneration.
- The fact that, due to our nature as a class solely relying on comboing and with zero ability to SA trade, when we are countered, we have absolutely no way to fight. This is notable in our Succession Nova matchup, who prevents us from killing her with our clones, and with our Awakening Lahn matchup, who we cannot put pressure on or reliably grab or survive many hits from.
- The fact that our E Buff provides almost no utility, despite all other classes similar to our nature and playstyle having an AP buff, bare minimum.
On my final night of PvPing on Awakening Ranger before the update, I found myself dying standing to Maegus and Deadeyes who ran circles around me while spamming damage skills dealing ~500 HP per hit through Super Armor in AoS, mainly due to my lack of movement pre-nerf. I could hardly even catch a caster. You could have let us have some sort of presence at the very least, rather than putting the final nail in the coffin to mark us as completely obsolete in this meta.
REVERT ALL CHANGES DONE TO AWAKENING RANGER IN 2025. The only good changes are Super Armor Vine Knot and Winds of Prairie weapon swap, but those provide almost zero utility due to our inability to function properly as a result of the rest of the changes.

Yep
I also want to mention the Korea and China players who play Awk Ranger said the changes are now dark times for ranger. I asked them in thier comments of thier recent youtube vids.
No one likes what PA has done to AWK ranger with this last patch!
For the love of all that is holy, please reverte these changes. I implore you PA!!
I reposted these under the Awakening Ranger feedback post in the Feedback category, but I will post them here too just to emphasize how bad these changes are. KR shares the same sentiments we have.
While all previous class changes have had a heavy focus on removing mouse movement, including one where we lost mouse movement on the skill Winds of Prairie, PA suddenly decided to force us to mouse move more. To top it all off, the mouse movement is required for a basic movement skill, not one of the more burst-like movement skills in our kit like Evasive Landing Shot or Spirit's Haven (which are able to be mouse moved but are not required to be). As someone who is unable to mouse move due to a physical injury, the class is now unplayable, especially since this change doubles the APM of the class.
Demonstrated here:
Her pve just got nerfed, so I am now wondering why they even made these changes to begin with, who actually asked for this?
Some PA employee tried it and thought it was easier this way?
Preventing use of rushing wind with the exception of using breezy blade first, is just a wild change to begin with, if you really wanted to use breezy after every other skill instead, have they not heard of the hotbar?
I don't know, PA went back to their classic take on purging awk ranger again, even though there's almost no one playing it.

Its crazy how zerker and striker can go patch after patch unscathed ( honestly think it's extremely favoritism towards thier streamers that play them)
Awk ranger has probably 50 people playing it max and personally I feel like it's like 20 people on NA the ammount of awk rangers i see in the world is like 1 per week if I'm lucky. This class is giga unpopular and its because they keep killing it over and over and over with zero logic behind thier changes.
Meanwhile we have awakening sage being giga buffed with tons of protections and SA trading abilities or something like awk dosa and now wizard awakening is back basically 1 shoting this class if we are not in iframe. Like at what point does awk ranger get to be relevant other then in capped content and even that now it's kits been so extremely gutted it doesn't matter how much skill you have you will not perform on that class at the same level as the others.
Considering that we lost so much for PvE buffs only for PvE to be nerfed this week, here are some more posts from KR forums in response. There was even a countdown to today's patch, and Awakening Ranger's recent changes are believed to be based purely off of some developer's emotions or bias:
It's often that the presumption of an unwanted change being made is due to KR, but this is clear evidence that it is not. North American, European, Sea, Korean, and Chinese Awakening Ranger mains are all incredibly upset over this. Earlier today, a Chinese streamer put up a Twitch stream with a picture criticizing the Awakening Ranger changes. These changes appeal to nobody and serve absolutely no purpose. It really does feel plausible that these changes were made on the basis of bias, and not for the sake of game or class health.
Revert ALL of the changes. The only good changes are Winds of Prairie weapon swap from pre-awakening and Vine Knot Super Armor, since Vine Knot is used as a short burst damage skill in group settings and since Vine Knot was originally designed as a Super Armor.
