I know this is going to get me some hate for sure... but it might be nessecary tbh, I've noticed alot of people who have basically quit the game and just AFK fish while waiting for the devs to give out free gear and stuff because "Why play the game when I could just AFK and still make pretty good money anyways, the devs will give me your gear in a few months for free anyways." I've heard alot of this recently and sadly it is kinda true, of course you could argue "I PvE cause its fun, not because I want BIS" which is valid but it is kinda sad to see so many players disheartened by the idea of grinding 4-12 hours a day then have that work just handed down to everyone else for free in 4 months.. just a thought. Of course the devs could also just not give out the gear but lets be honest, it does bring in some decent numbers due to FOMO so fishing nerf might the the "better" alternative for the devs.

Sadly PA just do not care, so long as your online boosting there numbers afk or not. PA could just as easy make any afk activite be simulated whilst offline so long as you set it up before logging off, it would be much cheaper for everyone.

If PA was to kill fishing now, people would just stop even staying on to afk.

sadly i think youre right, but in the long term i do think "afk players is better than no players" is gonna hurt the game

bdo only has afk training and afk fishing.  i took 3 days non stop afk training to max level one horse with sprint.  i remember afk fishing all night, earning only 30k silver.  grinding earned (and still does) more than afk fishing, but lots of us enjoy just chilling.  then there are in game bugs like afk training/fishing stops 5 minutes later.  i can finally earn decent silver with the changes to afk fishing.  i just wish bdo made more hotspots like velia beach.  in bdo i have the freedom to choose what i like.  just do what you like doing pvp, pve, or life skilling.  i used to train all the time until bdo gave away so many t9 and t10 mounts.  i'm not upset because bdo has so many other things for me to do.  i'm trying sailing for the first time after playing this game for 4 years.  bdo is a marathon game, so i enjoy playing the game as much as reaching my goals.  i don't think i'll enjoy the game as much when i hit level 30 guru because that will be the end of the game for that life skill.  you're lucky because pve still has higher level gear and grinding spots.  life skills end at level 30 guru (no/insignificant benefits after guru 30).

Well... Where is the real issue, in the end? Is it really coming from the lucrative side of this afk activity, or from the low interest for non-afk activities?

I mean, if grind is more funny, if active lifeskills are deep and meaningful, if pvpve is smartly made and still brings money, if pvp allows progression... Players won't afk fish and wait for free stuff. They will play and have fun.

Why nerf it? It should be buffed instead....you still do 2b/h while grinding while I do 1b (if lucky)/day(if I want to afk lol).....can't have nice things now do we? Not to mention that fish prices don't stay at 130% and go down to 80-90% because too many fishers so less money

I enjoy AFK fishing because I can do something else than stick my eyes on the screen for 1h and have arthritis for 2b or if lucky 4b per hour

I will never understand the AFK aspect of games.  Like why even buy a game if don´t need to play it ? Why even have gaming as a hobby if the game can just play it self.  I mean sure I played eve online for 20 years and AFK mining always been a normal thing.  But common stearing at a rock doing nothing is the only way to mine.  But when I wish I sit there and rather press space bar and then do the regular stepmania buttons to catch it.  Yeah it sounds boring but if I don´t wanna play my game then why even start it up or even buy it.  I played games to do something I think is fun not just start it and go do something else.

I say don´t nerf fishing just make it more fun/rewarding to do active fishing and AFK fishing less rewarding make people activly play more by being rewarded more.

dont even grind and still dont afk fish, enhanceing in BDO is just trash, do whatever for a month, to have a 3% chance or lower to tap somthing 10 times just to fail.... feels so great.
