Suggestion(s)/Comment(s): Provide players who bought the Lil' Otter Fishing Carrier before 4/17/2025 the opportunity to swap it for the Lil' Papu Fishing Carrier.

More seriously, if both were an option to begin with, I'd have picked Papu.  Now that the option has been added, having the Papu option would mean paying for a second redundant backpack item: something I will not do.  I'd still prefer it, so I argue that players who bought the Otter backback initially be given the opportunity to swap to the Papu version if they want.

One implementation would be to make a "Adoption Coupon" that allows anyone to swap the friend in any version of the backpack.  If this coupon is obtainable from in-game effort (loyalties, silver, etc), then that's likely sufficent.  If this coupon is a pearl item– a temptation, I know– then give one to the players identified above so they may have the same choice that players do now.

Yep, just like they do everytime they release a skimpier version of the swimsuits that are already out we can turn it in for the less fabric option.

There's another problem with the dual purpose cooking/alchemy item: can't include it in more than one patrigio's bag. That should be possible with any outfit piece.

I came here to start the same discussion & I'm very happy to see others aren't happy either. It's upsetting to have spent my money on something that didn't have the same option on release. I feel like its a bate & switch. People meme about it because they really have a opinion on the matter. PA has a mini quest line, server wide event, & each has their own city. I'm on the Papu side of the matter & looking at this ugly Otter every time I log onto my fisher puts a sneer on my face knowing there is a better option. I didn't like that it was an Otter in the first place, but the buffs were to good to pass up.

Huh?  They will not do it, because it does not change anything, this is just a skin. First, they release crio and sell it,  later   papu and sell it again, if they want they can create another cool skin that will be better than  papu or crio and will see it again, so what,  you will ask them to replace your skin every time? It doesn't work like that, it is the same like ask them to replace every new  costume they release, because it looks better than the current one. 

For costumes, there is a way to turn it into alternative value: crons or valks.  If a new costume comes out and I prefer it over a current one, I can melt the current one down into crons.

If I bought the Papu backpack now, the Otter backpack would just sit there doing nothing.  I only fish on one character, and there isn't some alternative to get use out of it.  I might buy an "adoption coupon" to swap Otter/Papu, but I'm not buying a second copy when the first would be a worthless brick.

So, all the options I see:
  -  Add an "adoption coupon" to swap Papu/Otter of a backpack item.
  -  Allow backpacks to be melted down for cron/valks, like other outfit/costume items.

  -  Tangential: Add a pearl option to repurpose a owned backpack to a different type (fishing -> cook/alchemy).

This is how i look at this it like I brought a yellow car and a few months later no they came out with a new color and want to change to that they are not going todo it why should They let you change thing out because they came with a different one

You don't ask them to melt backpack for crons. You ask them to add a coupon so you can exchange skin, because you don't like old skin anymore. This is ridiculous. 

Yeah, exactly, this is so funny.  Anyway, this suggestion has  0 chance for life. 

but yet you ignore the fact that PA has done this at least 4 times letting people swap out one outfit for the new version of the same outfit if they wanted it, so please with all your great wisdom explain to us how this vanity item is any different?
