Arsha should not have any death penalties. Why are red players (pirates) still able to get boat gear downgrades if they get sunk on Arsha?

Also red crystal breaking on Arsha. The whole "go to Arsha" argument is thrown out when neg karma on Arsha is still in effect.
All you have to do is have a quick glance at naval pvp of any kind, or naval content (or rather, lack thereof) in general, to see that, for some unknown reason, PA straight up hates this lifeskill, its pvp, or anything even remotely tied to it (unless it is about selling skins for the price of an actual ship, or forcing people to buy sailor slots because now you don´t even get enough to fill out one carrack at this point). The changes made to it (both PVE, PVP, and progression) look like they were made purely out of sheer spite. Therefore, I would not expect them to touch or even bother fixing basic naval movement mechanics (how fun it is being sniped by an invisible boat while the actual model is invincible, rotating on a random spot, for example), let alone address their intentional changes done long ago. No matter how spectacularly bad, short-sighted or poorly thought through (to the point it is impressive).
Rather, based on the treatment of sailing so far, I would be afraid of them touching it ever again.
Remember, we are talking about devs that seem to look like they are HAPPY about "players enjoying (afk) fishing content" to the point they are shoving it even as a mechanic for the ship, or that leveling sailing to acquire all the skills takes what are possibly months if not year/s of diligent sailing repeatable quests. That I would not wish on my worst enemy.
Therefore, I wouldn´t hold my breath on them going at least a little bit easy on naval pvp, including gear downgrades. Because that would mean they will also have to address fundamental issues that would come with its revival.
why u red?
so you planned to grind it out on arsha to dodge the karma system?
ofc you dont want punishment for something that you have done

I mean. They could just remove karma gain on arsha in exchange. So you don't degrade or loose crystals and can maybe have some pvp, you will just not gain any karma when grinding mobs (except obviously on regular server)
Would be a decent compromise. But PA seems unable to find a common middle ground on most topics.

the compromise IS that you lose stuff.

People like you are why reds exist. I hope it was a shai that ganked you

Are you asking why someone interacted with a system that is part of the game?
Anyway you can "dodge the karma system" as you put it, far more effectively by doing the naval fame spammable delivery quest.
OP is talking about being a red player anyway, not trying to get out of the red.

In short: because developers decided that's one of the vital mechanics in BDO.
You can perform certain actions that cause karma loss. Coincidentally, all these actions revolve around attacking other players. Which means Karma is a penalty for forced player vs player combat.
What was the point of Arsha that is often advertised by players? Combat. Literally every PK and PvP discussion has one person rising the argument that "want PvP, go Arsha". If main (and sole?) reason for Arsha existence is PvP, why should it penalize people that want to PvP.
Alternatively, PA could simply remove PvP and make it available only on Arsha?

LMAO. Bro didnt you read the manual. Arsha is a PvE server.
If you dont believe me just kill a few players there - 9 out of 10 corpses will tell you they are there to grind.
