Hey all,

I still some talks that ranger is still the strongest class in large scale and i wanted to point out few thing in the kit  and the reality that we are in heavy tank meta. The truth is that the class makes due with the fact of the amount of negligence in the kit for years.....

The focus of the class is 99% positioning and dmg, since melee fights are impossible and a lot of the classes have gimmicks to catch up to the positions with the current turtle mobility meta. Would it be either TP skills on top of target, fly over, double jump skills or out range dmg since a lot of new classes skills can be cast behind fg target and cc them.  Overall it is one trick pony class that prays on rat classes to ignore you.

I would like to focus now on the skill kit from which the are 13 skills used mainly for pvp:

overall 10 skills are unusable, 3 inconsistent and 3 are death if used to needs. Mostly the dp shred is unusable for pvp purposes 95% of time.

The class has 13 ap from passive, which is alright but 600 stamina and 10 movement speed is kinda waste, since the class lacks the defence and survivability to utilize the excess stamina. Awek spec has use for it, but the issue there is lack of stamina regen skills and likely slowest mobility class in the game, unlike archer and deadeye, there isn't any long range disengage skills. The 10% movement could just be made 30-40% ms out of combat skill to be at least interesting in 2025.

Big issue for the class is that it doesn't have def self buffs, almost every class has big class dmg bonus vs the class and sa is 10% dmg red for both specs. From which i can say awk ranger suffers the most due just 9% selfbuff evasion, that doesn't stack with ebuff even / no evasion passive, unlike succ/awk maegu.

In the end of the day the class only got 5% of qol ask for the last few years and the kit is giga outdated with simple gimmicks. The people that make the class shine are several dedicated mains, that barely manage in current hypermobility meta, combined with dp/evasion stacking, that ruins the game for everyone in PVP. Maybe adjust balance for accuracy/evasion/dp crystals and meta used classes in pvp.

The class is imbalanced in a way where everything is put into damage and range, and nothing else. Her damage is insane  everything else is bad. That said, if you were to give the class defensive capabilities (mobility, protections, and all) equal to a Deadeye, for example, the class would be more broken than a Sage.  I’ve seen Rangers melting full DR Zerkers, and as much as I enjoy watching it :P, that’s a little too much.

Ranger is prolly one of the most "over" balanced classes ingame. The reason everything is put in dmg is, because everyone has 108-118% class dmg ratio vs ranger and has 3 iframes with low mobility, while the SA and jumping are barely making the class getting 2-3 shot in the air. Point is this is the squishiest class, so ofcourse dmg should be high, but with current meta powercreep you can do dmg/kills, if everyone ignores you.

Having highground advantage is something that was great like 4 years ago. Currently almost every new class has a way to get to you via tp on top/behind, fly, jump like spiders man  or can blast you from futher than you could shoot them at.

I want to note that you can do only dmg while stationary for in fg/unprotected/only 1 sa poke. Class dmg ratio is 98% vs most classes or less. The arrow projectiles hardly connect to moving target or iframe teleporting. To top it the dmg is avg compared to some classes that can blast carphet build in 3-4 skills. 

Options are kinda three: 

1.Upgrading defensive capabilitiesis natural for this kit.

2.Make the skills with longer range/ make accuracy static 25%

3.Rework the class to be asension based.

Rangers can only chip DR zerkers if full blast / no accuracy crystals/ even if zerker is on the ground, which is very rare due full sa mobility rotaton. Try play a ranger tag for a bit and you will get the point. Assumptions is one of the reasons awk ranger suffers due the set limitation from succ spec, due to being a zdps blast spec

Note that deadeye is kinda little above avg for meta, but hardly op. Sage on the otherside is unmatched at current meta, The current top pvp claases are awk/succ maegu,awk sage,awk/succ hash, awk/succ sorc, succ zerker, awk striker, awk mystic, awk tamer, awk valk, awk dosa and awk musa.

Deadeye is overpowered in my eyes  too much damage and protected mobility. The solution I see for Rangers would be to increase their survivability while lowering their damage, so Ranger players actually get to play the game. But if you only increase their survivability without adjusting the damage, the class would become broken. It’s in the same category as Archer; what keeps those classes balanced is that you can actually kill them. If not, it would be GG  their attributes are way too unbalanced.

That’s why people tend to focus them in PvP  it’s not just that you can kill them, it’s that if you don’t, you lose. They work really well in Node Wars and Sieges because it’s much harder to single them out in the chaos and terrain. But in other game modes like Solare and Guild League, it’s doable. If you ignore the Archer or Ranger in Guild League or Solare, it’s basically an instant loss because of the sheer damage they can dish out if left alone.

But succession ranger is historical very horrible in AOS and G-League. IIRC none ever reached the end of season top 100 in aos and no top guilds used a succ ranger for g-league. But in node war, its good.
