Suggestion(s)/Comment(s):
Add more free sailor slot options through quests and remove the limit on Captain Medallions in the Loyalty Shop.

With the recent update to sailor fishing, ships like the Carrack (110 cabin capacity) and Panokseon (150 cabins) require more sailors to operate effectively. However, players are currently limited to just 10 sailor slots, with only one slot available through loyalties—the rest must be purchased with real money.

Even if you only use sailors with a 10-cabin requirement, you still cannot fully crew one ship using free options. If you want to use Confident sailors, the slot issue becomes twice as limiting. And for those who own multiple ships or want to use sailing presets, the problem becomes even more severe.

This is especially unfair for players who cannot or choose not to spend money, and it’s becoming a major barrier for new players who want to engage with sailing content. As it stands, you cannot fully man even one ship without paying, which goes against the spirit of sandbox gameplay.

Proposed solutions:

  1. Add more sailor slots as quest rewards, allowing players to unlock enough to crew at least one full ship.

  2. Remove the limit on Medallions in the Loyalty Shop, so dedicated players can work toward progress without spending money.

These changes would make sailing more accessible and help retain new players who might otherwise walk away from this content entirely.

Thank you for considering this feedback!

I cannot stress enough how important and direly needed that change is. Even if they limit it to a one-month purchase, this should have been a thing ever since the Sailor system got revamped.

But unfortunately, with predatory direction PA took (which includes loyalties since last week´s loyalty wipe and char slots: item integral to the game´s core experience), I doubt that will ever happen. More than that, I expect them to remove that one loyalty sailor slot from it eventually, too. That would be more in line with their current philosophy.

Even if your suggestion would mean that this cap will not count towards the "max number of slots" from Pearl Shop, you will also find enough people willing to defend the current practice, unfortunately.

Don’t get me wrong—I’ve bought and maxout all possible sailor slots. Even if they didn’t raise the max cap and I ended up “losing out” on it, I honestly can’t see how anyone could defend the current system.

In its current form, sailing has become a fully pay-to-win lifeskill, and that goes against everything sandbox content should stand for. I’ve seen too many great sailors give up—not because they lacked interest or skill, but because they hit a hard paywall that stopped all progress.

This system isn’t just bad—it’s actively driving away committed players. That’s why I felt it was important to speak up. It’s not about a refund or compensation, it’s about making the system sustainable and fair for everyone moving forward.

This really does have to change.

Are they driving away committed players, if it's only players that refuse to spend money to keep the game running? People seem to forget they're a business looking to make money. 10 sailors for F2P seems pretty generous to begin with to me. Of course, I'd certainly take more free ones, but a lot of you guys are just rediculous in your demands that because you're F2P the game should give you everything.

I totally get that it's a business and they need to make money—I'm not expecting everything for free. But the issue isn't just about wanting more for nothing. It's about basic functionality. If one ship can hold 30 sailors, only having 10 (+1) available without paying feels extremely restrictive. I'm not asking for all sailors to be free, but at least enough to properly crew one full ship should be accessible through gameplay alone. That’s not an unreasonable expectation—it’s just fair design. Monetization is fine, but it shouldn't come at the cost of making core gameplay feel incomplete.

  1. Look, I get that games need to make money. But locking most of the sailor slots behind a paywall? That’s straight-up pay-to-win. A ship needs 30, and we get 11 for free? That’s not balance—it’s a handicap. At least let us fill one ship through gameplay. That’s just fair.

So maybe they should drop the cabin space back to 50, so people don't feel they _NEED_ more sailors than can fit on the ship for free?

IMO each boat should come with some free slots.. maybe not enough for a full crew but it should scale with the number of carracks/panoks you own.  Maybe 5? 10? per boat?

And along with that, the max number of sailor slots you can have should also scale with the number of large boats you have  (22 per carrack, 30 per panok, since those are the max you can fit on those boats).

Totally agree! They should give enough sailor slot to properly crew one full ship! This needs to be updated!

I think sailors should more closely follow the worker system.

We should be able to unlock more slots via contribution point investment in town/scities with wharfs. The same way do with workers.

We should be able to hire sailors the same way, and with the same levelling system, as workers.

I'd also quite like to have the sailors given the same horse rating system we have to measure a horses speed/accel etc.
