It didn't used to be easy -- so reaching Guru training used to mean something. Now this second round of training simplification has rendered the Guru training level even more meaningless. Seriously, PA, you've taken all the lifeskiller challenge out of this game, and not just for horse training. I'm trying to find a reason to keep killing time here because it's been a pet game for me for a long time, but nothing comes to mind now and I'm getting bored.

Guru training is quite a way from guru100 training. Keep it up!

So when horses took 5 min to reach the stable, that was engaging content? Now that they run with you it's boring? Ok.

I hit guru 30 before training got easy. Keep it up for what? My point is is that It no longer means anything to be a guru trainer. During a training event, horse training takes place on all servers, but no event and players pop over to a season server that has a permanent event. And they can do this because for some reason your lifeskills are shared between all your characters now, even season characters.

When I hit training guru 1, I was one of maybe 3 players on all the servers with it. Now it's like reaching processing or gathering guru - means nothing.

I mentioned boredom after saying "taken all the lifeskiller challenge out of this game, and not just for horse training." So I wasn't just talking about training by that point. Stay in school.

And there was always a way to get a tamed horse to instant tele to you when you get to the stable. For so that point, it's only something easier for people who didn't know.

Easy for you, I guess.  Still struggling through  master levels here, easier or not. Care to share how (like the instant teleport tip, for example)?

I agree, training the skill takes forever after it reaches artisan and nothing changed in this regard.

The only way to teleport horse fast enough is to run/gallop fast from it so it despawns because of long distance between you. Then open horse stable NPC menus, repair your gear, sell garbage, open stable tab and your tamed horse should be there ready to register. Of course now it just runs and it is awesome.

My only complaint is how camped the horse spawns are now.  Checked some of my usual spots across 3 servers and saw 1 T6 horse, that's it.  Saw plenty of players running all through the spawns on wagons hoping to catch them as they spawn.  No thanks, I'd rather go back to fishing that participate in this sh*t show.

I was somehow Professional 10 despite not doing much horse training up until last week. Probably most of it was from just riding around. I've been taming horses for the last 3 evenings for around 6 hours each day and I've only managed to reach Artisan 5. If I was to continue this (let's be honest boring after a while) activity I don't even want to think how many thousands of horses more it would take me to even get to guru 1, let alone anything more.

I think the problem for people like you is that you've played this game so incredibly much and reached such heights that there simply isn't any meaningful content left to chase. Also, how would it make the game better if they made horse life skilling much slower? People like you could sit at the top and brag that you're guru 5000 whilst everyone else is trying to catch up to this "achievement"? How would it make it more engaging and enticing for all the people who either haven't spent thousands of hours capturing horses or who are only starting to play now?

Yeah, I've been playing a long time, but no longer than players currently at high guru levels for the other life skills. You going to "catch up" on other life skills too? And I did no bragging about my training level -- what I said was just a point of fact. The problem with people like you is you don't get that you have to want it. It did take me a long time. Because of people like you though, being a guru trainer has actually become so much easier than it used to be that it cheapens the rank. But PA does bow to newbies now so you've got that going for you.

I started this thread because I'm annoyed about how I had to do so much more in the taming mini game to attain guru. And I guess you don't really "want" it because there are now so many more guru trainers than there was even a year ago. All it takes is persistance, then and now. Catching a handful of horses every day will get you there, eventually, but it will get you there a hell of a lot faster than it took me -- therefore the cheapening of the rank. There's nothing special about it anymore.

-Over 3 hr respawn time vs 50 minutes now.

-One lump of sugar was just a timer vs now it guarantees taming success irregardless of training level.

-Furiously tapping space bar vs casual tapping now.

-Waiting a lightyear for a tamed horse to get to the stable (if the horse you were riding wasn't fast enough) vs instant now.

-Fewer wild horse locations than now.

-Rare life skill events vs life skill events every couple of weeks now, and season server with permanent event.

-Pitiful basic life skill buffs vs what's available now.

-Highest wild horse level available was 5.

-Getting a natural (no coupons) T8 courser was pretty much impossible.

-Seeing someone with a T9 was special vs now everybody has received a T9 and a T10 as an effortless gift.

Yeah, all the whining worked... Congrats! They added floating hearts for you too! lol
