Succession sorc desperately needs some minor quality of life improvements when compared to awakening sorc.
This post is not asking for massive buffs, simply some suggestions on how to address some of the issues in our kit.
1. Make Beak Kick lingering Front Guard
While changing Crow Flare to Super Armour was the right choice for the current meta; some players miss having an easily accessible front guard.
By making Beak Kick Front Guard, players can flow into Beak Kick after Crow Flare to use Front Guard. This also has the benefit of making Dark Backstep easier to access.
2. Make Dark Flame Super Armour
Dark Flame is currently almost never used because having Front Guard on the skill makes it too risky. Making the skill Super Armour would make the skill usuable, which would be nice to help us recover stamina, as succession sorc currently has severe mobility issues compared to awakening.
3. Increase range on Rushing Crow and remove entity collisions
While Awakening Sorc has Nightmare and Shadow Leap into Turn Back Slash, Succession Sorc currently does not have any reliable ways to punish Front Guards. Increasing the range on Rushing Crow will finally give us a reliable CC engage, and it will also help mitigate our mobility issues. Rushing Crow has a weird behavior where you can not flow into Shadow Erruption once the attack animation has started, and this animation starts as soon as it hits something. Entity collision should therefore be removed so we can punish Front Guards. The flow from Rushing Crow into Turn Back Slash should also be changed to happen before the attack animation similarily to how the Shadow Erruption flow works.
These changes are not a huge buff
Beak kick and Dark Flame is currently just not used at all in PvP. And succession sorc has among the worst mobility of all classes. Succession Sorc is one of the least played specs in the game.
Agreed! While recent changes to succession sorc weren't bad, they left her bit more vulnerable.
I especially like the suggestion of SA dark flame, its FG isn't particularly useful, currently this skill is extremely niche. Ocassionaly useful when trying to use some FG against a ranged class for example, but in majority of situations it's way too risky. Making it SA would make it more of a core ability.
