I’d like to suggest improving the notification system for catching larger fish, especially during Weekly Fishing Contest.

Currently, the game notifies players when they catch a fish larger than any previously recorded size in their personal Fish Guide. This is a great feature for general gameplay. However, it doesn’t reflect Weekly Fishing Contest progress accurately.

In the game, when a player catches a fish larger than any previously recorded size in their personal Fish Guide, a notification appears to indicate this. However, this system does not support Weekly Fishing Contest properly.

During weekly tournaments, a few specific fish species are randomly selected, and players compete to catch the largest size of those fish during the tournament period only. The sizes saved in the Fish Guide (from past catches) are not used in tournament rankings, and therefore are irrelevant in this context.

Despite that, the notification system still relies solely on the Fish Guide for comparison.

This means:

• If a player catches a bigger fish during a tournament, but it’s still smaller than their all-time personal best (saved in the Fish Guide), they receive no notification at all.
• As time passes and Fish Guide sizes increase, the chance of getting useful feedback during tournaments drops to zero - even when progress is being made within the tournament itself.

Some implementation suggestions:

• Display a distinct message (e.g. different color or icon) when a player catches a larger fish than their previous catches in the current Weekly Fishing Contest. This system should apply only to the fish species selected for the current tournament.
• At the end of each tournament, the size data for those species should be reset, so players start fresh the next week, avoiding issues when the same fish is randomly selected again

Optionally, players to choose the behavior of size notifications:

• Notifications based on Fish Guide
• Notifications based on Weekly Fishing Contest progress

Additional Note:
I’m aware that the tournament leaderboard updates daily at midnight, but it would still be helpful to know immediately if I’ve caught a larger fish than my previous attempt on the same day - without waiting for the next leaderboard update. A real-time notification would make the experience more interactive and satisfying.
