Hello
Another week gone by, a new patch and still the same problems present.
Playing BDO like this is quite an immersion breaker.

I mean it´s poor to look at, when i already started the game 6-7 weeks ago, i couldn´t believe that BDO has so poor ingame-graphic settings to adjust.. That is really a major immersion issue and if there is sliders for manually increase LOD distance or less LOD popup loading, anisotropic filtering, shadows to turn on and off, and much more, the whole community would be blessed.. I don´t know why it´s so hard to make thus change..

A month later and this hasn't even been recognized as a "Known Issue".
Absurd considering this is a big problem.
I don't do anything anymore in BDO aside from grinding a bit and packing boxes.

Can't play the game like this. :/

Not even looking forward to Mountain of Eternal Winter when thinking about how everything further away may just look like a snowy white texture wasteland.

Hello,
again a week has passed and who would have believed it, nothing has happened.
It also looks like Pearl has no interest in fixing this problem.

Maybe it will help if we post our system specifications.
CPU: AMD Ryzen7 2700x
GPU: AMD Radeon RX Sapphire Nitro+ 5700 XT
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR4 3600
MB: Asus ROG Strix B450-F Gaming I

Drivers are up to date.

Please fix this bug. It's ruining a significant portion of what makes this game beautiful.

It's disappointing that the [Events] Share Your Favorite NPC or Secret Spot! was even launched with the current visual bug persisting.

Distance texture/graphics are not rendering as they should (or not rendering at all)

Just one example of the recent graphical problems that have persisted for a while now.

Seems like this won't be fixed anytime soon.
Time to move on to another game, I guess.
What a waste.

Well, I don't think we should blow it out of proportion.

Whilst this bug is ever-present and almost constantly visually there to remind us whilst we're playing the game, I don't believe it is in anyway actually game-breaking in terms of restricting the completion of any content. To that end I'm sure it hasn't been (nor should it be) given top priority.

That all being said, I think this latest visual bug is just another reminder that whilst the character models continue to be outstanding in BDO (arguably one of the best to be found in the MMO genre) the landscape/terrain/structure/environmental visuals and effects in the game are beginning to show their age (especially in terms of how & when they're loaded/rendered when moving etc).

So, fingers-crossed in the near future improvements in these lagging aspects of the game are addressed so it regains its appeal as one of the most beautiful MMOs on the market. And toes-crossed the bug reported in this thread is fixed much sooner than that.

As a long term player I also hope BDO will get another engine update in the future, because the current one is definitely aging.

To me this issue is gamebreaking. I'm a visual guy.
All I do anymore is grinding five hours per week and packing boxes.
I'll shoot up a season character in a week's time next month and that'll be it.

Btw I think I know where PA screwed up.
Distant and near LOD consists of large grids. When it is created, it gets created grid per grid by a LOD creation program.

As you can see in this screenshot for example, there are areas where distant LOD is still existing and being displayed as it should be. This likely means that there was a huge error during LOD regeneration/recreation while - idk trying to fix some abnormal looking object (e.g. mountain) in the distance.

The distant objects - like trees - aren't just not showing up because there is something wrong with the "Far Away Objects" setting or some other configuration but for most of the cells in the gameworld there simply is no distant LOD existing.

This error during their LOD creation on 28th of April most likely also causes LOD of near cells/grids to be messed up in some grids (those very low-res objects like rocks not becoming high-res when in mid distance to them). E.g. Reverielle's screenshot showing the cliffs of Valencia or Mediah

Creating LOD (as well as occlusion) can take quite some time and checking it for errors has to be done by hand, so they probably won't fix this anytime soon. If we are lucky when the next large expansion gets released since that new area needs LOD creation anyway.
