I was fine with bad rewards last month as I suspected it to be an April fools joke.
But, oh boy, this months rewards are pathetic. PA really needs to think of revamping the login rewards to make it more enticing for players.
I'm waiting for the first comment: why are you complaining if you get it for free.
I think you just got spoiled with Heidel Ball, Company shift, and then 5 year anniversary attendance rewards being back to back. This is actually pretty standard for the attendance rewards. In fact it's far superior to the crap we got last May.
Many players take May off or August off as both those months are typically trash, so that after the 30 days is up, they can get the free 14 day VP and the "returning" player rewards.
Surely those low attendance rewards will gonna help correct dat

:D
(Though I don't think they should give away free stuff either.)

You can actually tell when BDO was given away for free on Steam. Intresting to see that the population is pretty stable. I wonder if it has something to do with many people say, "Don't play on Steam".

No.
The large increase was made starting on feb25 as the transfer happened. Many players who are inactive, but do not wish to lose their account transfered, and lot also reinstalled in the process to see how the things are.
But as the number clearly shows, the mayority quit already as the game didn't improved at all...
And while this is steam only, the overral trend should be the same on the totall.
And yeah, bdo is pretty "stable" like it's basically not improved in the last few years, though not even lost many players. I wonder if Ellyion hits what will happen though...
In Asia the corporate calender usually ends in March rather then in the West where Jan-Dec is the standard, over in the East it tends to be April-March. Its funny how they always have bigger numbers in march, like they are trying to bump up the sales numbers for the year...
it would be interesting if they tried to sustain this player boost.
+1
dont you worry your little cute face.
once more competitive MMO's start coming out, PA will be forced to release more attendance rewards.

I wasn't just referring to this past march, if you remember March 2020 (the other massive spike) they also gave away the game for free. In late December and the begining of January there was a Twitch Promotion where if you watched a BDO stream for an hour you got the copy of the game for free (note slight increase at end of December, big jump in January). There was a big sale on Steam in January 2018 (another small spike) on BDO you could get the base copy for $0.99 in the US.
So yes, you can see when the game was given away for free on Steam.
