With the recent addition of the Painting system for PVE treasure grinding, I think it's a great time to revisit and improve the QOL for the Ebenruth's Nol grind, specifically the Symbol Engraved Nol from Treasure Chests.
Currently, with all other treasure pieces, the process is simple, you grind mobs and it either drops or not (not saying it's easy but at least it's straightforward). But with Nol, you first have to
1. Grind mobs to drop moss -covered map pieces
2. Use moss removers on these pieces to get a RANDOM torn map piece
3. Collect nine specific pieces to combine into a full map for a chest
4. Have a 0.5%-1% chance to finally drop the Nol.
That is RNG on RNG.......on RNG and this process can become very fustrating very easily. I've personally encountered many times where I would be missing just ONE torn map piece whilst having 20+ of the 8 other pieces EACH and this is incredibly demovitating to grind for more pieces.
As such, to decrease the layers and layers of RNG involved in the Nol grind (even by just a little bit), I propose the developers change the current Map Piece Swap quest with Kario on Oquilla Eye to reward a Torn Map Piece SELECTION Box instead of a Random Box as it currently is. I know this idea has been proposed many times before, both in the West and in Korea, but with the addition of the Painting Mechanic, and the Potion Pity Pieces way before that, I think it's high time the devs take a look at the long forgotten Ebenruth's Nol as well.
This way, players would have at least a little bit of guarantee in this insanely RNG filled process and the cost of 2 Moss-Covered Maps + 500 Crow Coins (300 for the quest itself and 200 for the original moss removers) is sufficiently expensive enough for this to not be game breaking nor significantly diminish the efforts of people who already hold Ebenruth's Nol.
P.S. Even the other lifeskill treasure, Remitaronsom's Lamp, recently received significant buffs/QOL since Imperial Steeds can now be purchased directly from the night vendor (at a fairly cheap price nonetheless) and you can also get 1 from trading in Delivery Notices.
So please PA, for the love of BDO, please give us Nol grinders just the tiniest bit of love and comfort for once. Thanks.
You have another option, buy it with crow coins, which today you get a lot more of compared to a year ago.
You can just grind out the 2,000,000 crow coins. However, yes, it would be a rather nice QoL change to make the map piece box a selection one instead of a 'random' one. I know people have said that each piece has the same percentage of dropping, but boy does it feel like I've gotten the same map piece that I just turned in more times than not. At least make it so you don't get the same piece that you just turned in, especially if you turned in three of that piece to try for a completely different one.

It's because there's technically 4 different center pieces, meaning there's really 13 different map pieces, so naturally you'll end up with more center pieces over time.
The regular mossy maps should remain RNG.
I think the map exchange at Oquilla should give you a "choose your map piece" box instead of a RNG piece.

I'm aware and I know how you can tell which center piece is what as well. I stand by my statement - trade in three of the same piece and seemingly feels like I have a higher chance of seeing that piece again. Maybe I'm just that unlucky. :<
