I'm playing on EU server. I'm posting this on behalf of a veteran player/Steam user named Karna5, who has more than a whopping 18,000 hours in game. They posted this on Steamm, before being told to post it on Discord. They couldn't due to being legally blind, so I offered to post it there instead, with their permission. I did so, and got told to post it here so that it can get hopefully get seen by the fine folks at Pearl Abyss. Sorry for the long intro. This is what Karna5 had to say: "I've done four world bosses this week, and three of them despawned due to not enough people being there. I used the same character on all bosses (322 AP/AW Awakened Guardian.) 

1. Karanda - I was the only person for the first 22 minutes. Then, a couple of people showed up at the end. However, it ultimately despawned because of insufficient damage. I got less than 6 million silver in loot for hitting it non-stop for thirty minutes. I got NO chilling fragments (the pity pieces which you can exchange 100 for loot.) 

2. Karanda - I was the only person for the first 21 minutes. It despawned for insufficient damage. I got around 30 million silver for hitting it non-stop for thirty minutes. I got NO chilling fragments. 

3. Nightmare Kzarka - This had enough people. I got around 100 million silver in loot and five chilling fragments. 

4. Kutum - I was the only person for the whole thirty minutes. I got 18 million silver loot. NO chilling fragments. Kutum still had over 30% of its health left at the end, but whether 30% or 1%, we're still penalized if it despawns unkilled. 

 The problem with world bosses in BDO currently are: 

A. You don't get pity pieces if there weren't enough people to kill the boss, even if you fought it for the whole thirty minutes, non-stop.

B. The loot is awful. 

C. There's no incentive for new players or weak characters to fight the world bosses because a year ago the loot tables were patched to reward the top 20 damage dealers and leave the lowest damage dealers (new players or boss alts) with no real chance of getting good loot. 

Without new players and boss alts at world bosses, there's nobody there. World bosses used to be a great place for new players to make friends with veterans. But now, most of the  spawns, particularly the non-special spawns, are empty. Thus, bad loot tables turn into AWFUL loot tables. 

I made around 900 million from rift bosses today. (Got lucky with two Deboraka accessories, plus all the other great loot from the six rifts which took a bit under an hour.) 

The four world bosses I did were an investment of around 3 hours (10 minutes each way travel, plus 30 minutes fighting them), and the loot fighting counting Nightmare Kzarka was less than 150 million for 3 hours non-stop." 

I don't claim to speak for Karna5, nor do I have anywhere close to the amount of time they've spent in this game. However, I've been enjoying this game, and I'd hate to see it slowly die out because of the lack of new players. As far as solutions for these problems go, maybe make it to where the boss gets their health cut down based on the number of players, with it capping to what it's current full health would be normally. Another idea that could help with getting the fragments would be to give 1 per 10% of damage done, so if my friend here had done 70% damage before the boss despawned, they would still get 7 pity pieces. It's not much, but it's a start. 

If you guys have noticed this problem, and would like to offer your own solutions, I'd more than welcome it. Thank you.

Agreed. Loot for world bosses is not good enough/relevant enough. Furthermore, the bosses are too tanky and iframe too often. PA's proposed fix (making them despawn sooner) will not help with these problems.

So, PA, make World Bosses relevant again.  It's the only meaningful content players can do that helps each other out.  Help us help each other become stronger.

So we can slaughter pigs in a cave and kill each other for a demon throne.....  Is that right?  Is that end game?.......

It is very sad to see how little the use of just basic searches, is being ignored or not bothered with.

It would be Great if someone (say someone in charge of the forum) could put all the posts with the same topic into one thread, then all would be speaking on the same topic, and not 1000 different small topics all about the exact same thing :(

I'm on 60k plus hours in this game, I've got alts on every world boss location and we used to do them every single day they spawned. I cant remember the last time i did them, they have become totaly irrelevant.

Well, thanks to the latest update, the only boss ever to be killed again will be Vell.

Oh, I forgot about the Loml bosses, which will too fade to irrelevancy due to the needs of the Sov sub weapon.

Oh, well, I had a good run of slaying bosses for 5 years.  It had to end sometime.  I just wish I could have ended it on my terms, not PA's.

Hey, since we're talking about having fun and killing bosses:  PA, can you bring back the daily boss summon scrolls?  I miss the fun.

And the diversity of Rift Bosses.  That made it fun to.  Keep the number at six, but bring back the full roster.  Puturum can spawn just outside Rock Post.  Not much extra riding needed there.  Heck, it's right by a well.

Anyway, the simpler and dumber you make the game, the more boring ir is.

Edit: 7 o'clock Kutum this morning is a case in point.  Even after the pity-damage knocked 60% of his health down, Kutum despawned with 1% health left because of the shortened time.  Thanks, PA.  You're making our days brighter and better by every update.

Best thing one can hope for is that it's part of a "piecemeal" plan to streamline the experience. Maybe they'll cut down the boss' health next time, though I wouldn't hold my breath.

The boss loot is still hella worth imo. Irid light stones are expensive, boxes are needed to make black stars, the latent auras are a gate for making horse gear, chilling fragments and gold bars are a nice little bump so overall very relevant stuff. For me though, it is annoying to have to switch to an alt and my alts do not have gear and I will never put any gear on them so it wont do any damage. Im sure a lot of people have the same mentality. 
They just need a way to allow me to instantly teleport with my main to these bosses. Even making it so that its attached to the telescope would be cool too.

Also an incentive to continually hit the boss instead of just get a tag in at 15 minutes would be ideal. Something as simple as dropping stacks of silver or latent auras like how the tax cart does would be enough tbh
