I was told you can toggle off helmet appearance from costumes/outfits. So I recently got "Beginners Serendian soldier armor" for my shai. When I put it on i wanted to toggle off the helmet appearance. When I went to the "customization" menu in esc->character->customization;  I clicked on "head gear" and then "apply" but that didn't do anything since I got the message "There is no changed customization information". So I went to equipment and tried toggling "hide outfit" for the helmet part; but it didn't do anything and the only thing I can toggle hidden was the entire outfit. So I either where the whole outfit or don't.

My question is if I buy a pearl outfit that has a different hairstyle; CAN I toggle off that hairstyle before committing spending on a outfit only to not he able to keep my original hairstyle or toggle off a helmet appearance? And how can I tell otherwise before buying a outfit.
