Event Introduction 

Flux hosted an Edania inspired Black Desert Online screenshot contest.
This contest ran from Thursday, November 27, 2025 12:00 PM until Wednesday, December 17, 2025 11:00 PM.
Winners were announced on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 6:00 PM.

Requirements

Participants must submit 3 screenshots to enter:
     + Character with any Edania Throne
     + Action (fighting / effects / doing something awesome / etc)
     + Landscape (anywhere within Edania)

Screenshots must not contain the UI (Ctrl + U to hide).
Must be a current member of Flux guild.
All screenshots must be taken within Edania region or showcasing the region.
Submit screenshots to me privately through discord.
Screenshots are to be judged by community members not currently affiliated with the Flux BDO guild.
No photoshop outside of BDO. Only in-game filters and settings allowed

Rewards

The winning participant will receive a grand prize of $100.

Additional prizes given to participants that have the best picture in each category (excluding the grand prize winner) of $25.

Summary of Event

Flux had 10 participating members that submitted screenshots and 6 judges from our community. Judges rated on a scale from 0-10 (judging critera listed below) and the scores were averaged to determine winning category submissions. Judges also voted on the grand prize submission that was not reliant on individual scoring.

Judging Criteria

0 – Disqualified / Not Applicable
Image does not meet contest requirements (wrong subject, unreadable, corrupted, or not a screenshot).

1 – Very Poor
Extremely unclear or unappealing. Major issues with framing, lighting, resolution, or relevance. No evident effort or intent.

2 – Poor
Significant technical or compositional problems. Subject is hard to identify or poorly presented. Minimal artistic or thematic value.

3 – Below Average
Basic subject is visible but lacks clarity, focus, or impact. Composition feels accidental or unrefined.

4 – Average
Technically acceptable with no major flaws, but unremarkable. Limited creativity or visual interest.

5 – Competent
Solid and clear screenshot. Meets expectations but does not stand out. Adequate composition and timing.

6 – Good
Well-composed and visually pleasing. Shows intentional framing, timing, or perspective. Above-average quality.

7 – Very Good
Strong composition and clear creative intent. Effective use of lighting, angle, or moment. Memorable but not exceptional.

8 – Excellent
Highly polished and striking. Excellent timing, composition, and clarity. Demonstrates strong artistic or thematic impact.

9 – Outstanding
Exceptional quality. Nearly flawless execution with powerful visual storytelling, emotion, or originality.

10 – Masterpiece
Truly exceptional and rare. Perfect execution, unforgettable impact, and exemplary creativity. Sets the standard for the contest.
