Ongoing Concerns About Enforcement Consistency and Harassment Handling

I have been playing Black Desert NA since the servers opened. Over the years, I have invested a significant amount of time and money into this game. I’ve supported Pearl Abyss through costumes, value packs, expansions, and long hours of gameplay. I’m not a casual passerby. I’ve been part of this community since day one.

That is why this situation is so frustrating.

Over the past year, I have reported the same player for in-game harassment four separate times. These incidents involved repeated targeting at world bosses and grind spots. I submitted screenshots and timestamps each time. Despite that, the behavior has continued without any noticeable change.

At the same time, I have received multiple chat restrictions for roleplay-themed phrases. These phrases did not contain profanity, slurs, or real-world threats. They were written in a dark fantasy tone consistent with Black Desert’s world. After my first restriction, I spent days reviewing every single one of my chat macros directly with support. I asked what needed to be adjusted. I changed wording. I tried to ensure full compliance moving forward.

Months later, I was issued another long chat restriction. The reasoning cited “similar structure” and “contextual impact,” not a clearly defined banned word or specific policy clause. If tone alone is now considered a violation, that needs to be explicitly defined in the Operational Policy. If repetition is the issue, then that standard also needs to be clearly explained.

From a player perspective, the enforcement feels uneven. Harassment reports seem to lead nowhere, while communication moderation is applied strictly and repeatedly. That imbalance creates the perception that rules are not being applied consistently.

I am not asking for special treatment. I am asking for clarity, transparency, and consistency. If policies have evolved, they should be clearly written so players who invest years of time and money into this game can confidently follow them.

I care about Black Desert. I have invested too much into it not to. But trust in moderation depends on fairness and clear standards. I hope this feedback is taken seriously.

Best way to stop harrasments is to avoid them.
More you chat or react on harrasser, more fuel they will get.

Game has so many different ways to avoid pvp it is very rare for players to find each other time and time again.

Chat bans is indeed very trigger easy thing. That is why you should not send any roleplay or other messages to the attacker. He will only like it.

I used to have a pvp hungry stalker back in older years, but when i kept swapping servers and avoiding him for few weeks or months he gave up since i was too "coward" to him.

  2. No Man Ever Steps On The Same Sand Twice, For It’s Not The Same Sand And He’s Not The Same Man.
Meaning: You make mistakes, a man learns from them and improves. Used mostly in arena when the team is strong but needs teamwork to win.

  4. Man, A Desert Enigma, All His Actions Are Motivated By Desire, His Character Forged By Pain.
Meaning: Playing Black Desert Online for more than 10 years, surrounded by toxicity and what seems like corrupt game masters, and keeping a PC online 24/7 does things to a man. This reflects my isolated BDO lifestyle. I no longer communicate with the community and use chat macros instead.

  10. Dread, The Void’s Fierce Adversary, Quakes Before My Relentless Advance!
Meaning: Good game or GG toward good teams or strong allies, in or out of arena.

No whispers were sent. No one was stalked. These are public PvP macros used in competitive play on PvP servers.

Meanwhile, the player in question has repeatedly targeted my alternate characters at boss spawn locations.

This has occurred multiple times to the point where I am unable to safely switch characters during boss events.

Repeatedly killing alt characters at spawn specifically to prevent gameplay and character switching goes beyond standard PvP. That behavior constitutes harassment.

I have reported this same player over five times for the same repeated offense.

If public PvP macros are being scrutinized, then repeated targeted disruption of gameplay at boss spawns should also be addressed.

All screenshots shows that you are in same server and you keep respawning like 9 times in 3 minutes.
So you are not even trying to avoid the pvp. Which does not really make you a big victim here.

To avoid pvp hunters:
- Swap server more often, guilds has 3 servers to use (without cooldown) and game has +20 servers to use (with 3.5 minute cooldown)
- Do not respawn on node or wait some time and see if he stays or leaves.
- Use lvl 49 characters at Bosses, and hunter will get mad for unable to kill you (Boss will give loot just from 1 hit you put in)

Optionally you can keep karma bombing the player. If you let him kill you alot he will give up eventually. You are not losing anything while he will hit 1mil nega karma and has painful time to get it back up.

So, you're roleplaying and trashtalking in public, respawning multiple times on same channel, and now calling that harrasment?
Who is harrased here?
