Potentially unpopular opinion, but the pity system for the new alchemy stones opened my eyes to just how ridiculous the pity can be on other pieces. In particular: tet fallen god. The mathematical average is 14 to 15, and the pity is 50. It is over 3 times the average and significantly more expensive as cronning isn't a choice, it's mandatory. 8.1 bil a click, the average brings you just under the cost of buying the wailing (tet) fallen god off the market. Once you're 3 times over, you could've bought two tet fg with the silver you literally wasted.
The arguement I can see against this idea is "the market value will decrease." It will, yes, but the idea behind the sovereign and edana gear was so that you couldn't resell it. Once you convert it, you can't go back. Players are given a flood of crons when they are new or returning, encouraging you to make your own gear. The enhancement system discourages you from making your own gear. When the pity is multiple times above the average, you're punished for continuing your enhancing journey.
That's all to say, the market won't crash. Or at least not as bad as the blackstars did. The blackstar market crashed due to PA allowing players to use items intended for new players on items which could be retraded after tapping to pen. The hammers should have restricted central market access when applied. The blackstar market would have stayed healthy. Pen BS aren't being posted anymore because all the veterans have already offloaded their goods, and more won't be made because it's not profitable.
All in all, I'd like to suggest the wailing fallen god armors (labreska, fallen god, ators, dahns) be reduced to 25 or 30. 25 is half of what the current is, and wouldn't affect the market so starkly. 30 is 2x the average and won't punish players for continuing to enhance their gear.
They should had done that a long time ago already.
TET fallen god armor is simply the worst grind of the game by now, and by far a major contribution to people quitting the game.
I couldn't even get myself to grind for it as you say, the amount you might fail is just so much silver that could progress several accessories to NOV instead.
Feels like you can't really play the game without getting it either with the DP requirements on Edania bosses, which is a bad enough time gatekeep of itself already.
Overall a bad move they still didn't make Wailing atleast slightly easier.
Only reason i got mine is by waiting for free crons as the grind for it is just not motivating, at all.
I'd agree. I almost quit at 35 taps. The only reason I kept going was to play the market. People complain in my guild when they get to 15 or 20 taps. I saw pity. Going 3x down what the average is and watching dozens of people hit MULTIPLE wailing before me only made things worse. Someone hit all 4 of their fg pieces in 5 taps. It's more likely, statistically, to do that than pity a single piece. At 20 stacks I started using a 400 stack simply so I could get my item finished.
I really don't understand the enhancement system both wanting you to self enhance and punishing you for doing so.
I'm surprised by the amount of downvotes for this suggestion. Could anyone make a reasonable argument as to why it's not something you'd want changed for the game? The main thing against it I see is the market, or resentment for newer players attempting to finish their gear easier than other people were.
Lets look at the market side of things.
Assuming the pity is changed to 30, and the market value does not change, the cron cost to pity is 81k, or 243b silver in vendor crons. The max price of any tet fg currently on NA is 213b. Lets move that up to 220b to accomodate for a drought in supply. With the rich merchant's ring and max fame, you'd get in return 195.2b (or 188.0b without). None of this accounts for the caphras or sharps consumed which adds another 1 bil to the cost (6 mil ea for sharps, 3 mil each for caphras, but you could spend less).
The average for enhancing hasn't changed, just the top-end for failure. Instead of potentially seeing 3.3x the average to tap with the pity, you'd see, at most, 2x. This does mean crafting these becomes more enticing, similar to how PEN Blackstars were when the pity was reduced to 20, but with more room for loss as the pity for PEN Blackstars was reduced to be only slightly above the average.
Main advantages FOR the change:
1, players could feasibly craft TET FG for profit. This creates more supply for players who aren't interested in crafting their own gear and allows more geared players with larger capital to make even more money (something we saw greatly abused in the Olvia Academy update, but realistically less likely to be flooded due to high cost to entry).
2, players looking to enhance their own gear are not severaly punished for getting unlucky. The pity for blackstars were reduced, the new alchemy stones have a pity that's on rate, and both edania and kharazad have pities that aren't outrageous either (1.5 to 2x the average is what I've seen).
3, the pity is in line with what players could reasonably expect by this point. There's been a lot of changes to make gearing up easier and faster. The main thing I didn't like with these changes was skipping steps in the gearing process which ultimately invalidated dozens of grindzones. However, enhancing to full Silent is already pretty rough and a big jump from the many ways to guarantee enhancements. When you fail 30 times with a solid failstack, you already feel like shit. When you see it fail another 20 times, you don't feel any desire to try again. I legitimately almost quit when I hit 40 fails. I ended up hitting pity, which is less likely that tapping ALL your armor to tet in 5 attempts by a factor of 9.
I would like to ask again for those who are opposed: what's your reasoning? Genuine curiosity.
I completely agree with you. I hit 30 on two pieces and I am not going to touch them anymore. I consider 25/30 to be a reasonable cost with regard to the avarage, market and costs, 50 is simply absurd. That is also why I stopped at 30, because I hope that PA sees some reason. Going 50 would mean just kicking and demotivating myself even more.
Do not mind the downvotes, the forum is full of trolls who are not interested in improving anything, you numbers are correct, done them myself when I stopped enhancing the armors. You will not get any reasonable discussion from the trolls.
Be happy you have pity. Some of us got pen black stars and had a tremendous amount of silver invested into them (some people like me even having them completed) before pity was added. Why would most of the older players have sympathy?
Also if you dont like how much it cost to hit your wailing now wait until you do the math on crons and essence of dawn for your kharazhad accessories.

Times change, even predatory game designs do not need to stay predatory (i.e., suffering without pity). Even though you may imagine it is something like a natural rule that beacause you suffered, others must suffer as well, you really do not need to transfer your trauma to others forever. The sooner you realize, the better. Kharazad is a trap, everyone knows.

Have fun doing throne of edana without them because you cant :) Im not trying to transfer anything onto anyone. Im just saying be happy they added something like the anvil in the first place but go off brother

The "back in my day" arguement only reminds us you played during a worse time in the game's history. It's like saying, "Heh, you think opening 3 doors to get inside is bad? Back in my day, there used to be 12!" Why should we suffer bad design now because you and others suffered bad design in the past? I'd rather play the game without the current enhancement system if I'm honest. It's just goofy.
Out of the dozen older players I've talked to, only one has really objected to the idea of reducing the pity, and it was very much along the same lines as what you poised.
And kharazad accesories have had reasonable pities from what I've seen. Haven't run the numbers, but the pity so far has looked to be around 1.5x rate. 3.3x for fg is just a massive joke.
I appreciate you letting me know though! I like the opportunity of seeing other's viewpoints on this topic.

Because everyone i see complaining is new. You had season which caught you up and constantly fed you dopamine hits of easy success and you want it to stay easy. The game isn't meant to be easy. Its a marathon and they fed you ina sprint
