In the game, characters above level 49 can enable PK and engage in combat with other players. However, characters below level 50 cannot enable PK and are not vulnerable to player attacks.

Many players have unintentionally leveled their life skill characters above level 49 due to inexperience or lack of knowledge. This situation creates a significant issue, especially for players who focus on AFK activities.

Players who are AFK fishing, training horses, or performing other life skill activities can sometimes become targets of toxic players. When this happens during the night, it may cause the computer to run unnecessarily until morning. Similarly, if it happens while the player is at work, the computer may continue running the entire day until the player returns home.

For this reason, I believe a reversal system (level reduction system) would be beneficial for players who have already passed level 49 and activated the PK system by completing the level 50 quest.

Such a system would allow players to continue using their existing character without having to repurchase life skill-related Pearl items, inventory expansions, or weight increases that they previously bought.

As Pearl items are quite expensive, protecting these player investments is important.

I would like to suggest four possible solutions:

1. Level Reduction via Level/Skill EXP Transfer Coupon

The existing Level/Skill EXP Transfer Coupon could be updated to allow characters to reduce their level below 50.

As a result of this process:
The character’s level is reduced to 49%
Completed awakening quests are removed
Awakening weapons cannot be equipped
Awakening quests must be completed again

2. Blessing System Through a Priest NPC

A special quest from a Priest NPC could allow the character to be blessed.

As a result of this process:
The character’s level is reduced to 49%
Completed awakening quests are removed
Awakening weapons cannot be equipped
Awakening quests must be completed again

This system would allow players to convert the character back into a life skill–focused role.

3. PK Activation Through a Questline

Currently, players automatically unlock the PK system after completing the level 50 quest.

Instead, an alternative system could be implemented:
After a future update, PK could be disabled by default for all existing characters
Players who want to enable PK must complete a special questline
This questline can be obtained from the NPC Black Spirit
Regardless of character level, PK can only be enabled after completing this quest
Once enabled, PK cannot be disabled again

For this reason, players could be clearly warned with a red warning message before completing the quest.

4. A Dedicated Life Skill Channel

A dedicated channel could be created where player killing is permanently disabled, monsters in monster hunting areas are hidden, and life skills activities are exclusively used. This would allow players who are fishing, horse training, or performing other life skills activities AFK during work or school hours to continue playing without being disturbed by toxic players.

Options 1 and 4 sound good and are quite simple for developers to implement.

I absolutely agree !! There must be a way to lower the character level below 50

A great idea! and it would be even better if it were implemented as a quest line.

This way, potential abuse could be prevented. Adventurers who wish to enable PK on a newly created character could talk to the Priest in the nearest city and activate PK after completing this quest.

To disable the PK system, they would need to wait 7 days. In short, it could function quite well as a weekly repeatable quest.

Here is a simple example:

Quest Name: Ready for Battle
Quest Description: Once this quest is completed, you will be able to attack other adventurers in the open world, and they will also be able to attack you.
Quest Requirement: Characters who have reached at least level 49 can complete this quest once per week per character.

Quest Name: A Peaceful Day
Quest Description: Once this quest is completed, you will not be able to attack other adventurers in the open world, and they will not be able to attack you.
Quest Requirement: Characters who have reached at least level 49 can complete this quest once per week per character.

Finally! Even if the current level is above 49, if PvP is disabled through a quest, no one can attack, and the adventurers cannot attack anyone else.

1&2. Allow players to lower their level to 49 if they wish. I believe this is the best idea of the list.  It would allow someone who started and invested in lifeskilling on a 50+ to revert the character back to 49.  I believe this process should be "free", given the player is giving up their levels and EXP as cost.

3. PK on/off. Not worth implementing as stated, given there's no real incentive to enable PK.  I suspect most players in that situation would opt to never do it, even if they could revert.  There needs to be a compelling reason to do so to replace the limit to level.  Using Arsha as an idea: affect drop rate.  This could be a buff, but I like the idea of it being a debuff: "for every level over 50, if PK is disabled, then -5% drop rate".  A player could be 62 with PK off, but have -60% drop rate.  That's a compelling reason to enable it.

There's also the risk of abuse.  For example, a 49 Shai is unable to access the significant buffs of the Sol unless they get to 56, questline, etc.  If PK was disconnected from level, then we'd start to see the real "ultimate pocket Shai" that can buff individuals or teams in PvP with impunity.  (Yes, I know this already exists in various forms, but no need to make it worse.) Anticipating stuff like this, I believe we keep with the current [49 safe, 50 PK] approach.

4. Lifeskill channel. Assuming players know to make 49s or can revert, this isn't needed.  Similarlly, it lacks real negative to balance it out, aside from the potential for overcrowding. (So, about that debuff idea...maybe...?)

In some ways, much of what is sought in this idea already exists: season channels, Elvia realm outside of Serendia/Calpheon, changing channels, reporting anyone who follows you across channels, etc.  I know options like season may not be ideal given you won't have your investments in weight/costumes, but that small difference (relative to the major effects of clothing/accessories) may be a small price to pay to do combat-based lifeskills without worry about PvP.

Likewise, open world PvP is nothing of what it used to be.  There are reds and greifers out there still, yes, but not enough to merit a significant overhaul of systems, I think.  Adding the option to revert a character to 49 should solve most of the problems players have, and playing smart with the systems that exist can help address the rest.

the level up quest very clearly indicates, multiple times, that it's going to level you up to 50 and enable pvp

if bdo players can't read that's not pa's problem

Reminder:

If you use the tag system to level your ALTs, you cannot discard excess experience and are forced to level a character past lv.49 in order to remove the tag.

you're not forced to level it up. pa has been aware of that issue for a while and you can submit a ticket under gameplay > can't move | stuck | untag to get the tag removed. anyhow, what you're describing is an oversight that should've been taken care of by now but pa is pa

Rather than any of that, just allow the AFK activities to continue while offline.  If you are fishing and log off, your character keeps fishing for the next 18 hours just like you were logged in, when you log back in, it'll calculate what you did while offline.  Same goes for horse training, dummy training and everything else.
