There is clearly a deliberately created character META situation (whoever came up with it, seriously screw them lol). Ever since this concept entered our lives, we’ve been experiencing it in every game.

Is it stupid? Yes, it is. Most of the time, it’s done either because they release a new character and want people to try it, or with the mindset of ‘we’re releasing cosmetics for this class, let’s buff it so more people play it and increase cosmetic sales.’

For PvP, there’s not much to argue. Due to character design, some classes naturally have smaller or larger hitboxes, different dodge/attack mechanics, and inherent strengths and weaknesses. That’s normal when you’re playing against a real opponent.

But for PvE, this situation is really hard to justify. I can understand that ‘some characters are more ergonomic or easier to play’—for example, a Ninja and a Guardian shouldn’t feel the same anyway. They appeal to different player types.

However, when two characters farming in the same spot (even if not with identical effort) result in one getting 10–15k more trash loot than the other, that’s an insult to player individuality and enjoyment.

This difference in trash loot also means a difference in drops. As long as one character can kill more mobs per hour, they will naturally obtain more drops at the same rate.

Yes, it's silly to see why there are differences in PvE. I main Valkyrie and I've been insulted, discriminated against, even asked how I manage to cope with the losses I suffer for not performing well in PvE. That difference is really stupid; what do they gain from a PvE meta?

Have you not been paying attention to the class balance changes in the patch notes?  This is something that they are constantly working on (and I would say have been making good progress towards in recent months).  The fact is that "balance" between classes in any game is an incredibly difficult (and I would even argue impossible) task, particularly in a game with so many different classes.  The only way to achieve true balance is to homogenize all of the classes so that they function identically and are only different aesthetically.  That said, getting all classes to a similar performance level is a worthy goal, but it is one that will require constant adjustments, tweaks, with cycles of evaluation and re-adjustment.  There are just too many moving parts whenever a change is made to expect balance to be something that can be simply done and over with; it is a journey rather than a destination.
