I want to address something that keeps getting brushed aside whenever players talk about class balance in BDO. The issue isn’t that Pearl Abyss is “struggling” to balance classes. The problem is that the system isn’t designed to reach balance in the first place.

If you look at the pattern over the years, the game doesn’t move toward stability. It moves in cycles:

  • A class gets heavily buffed

  • Players reroll into it

  • Cosmetics and class‑specific items sell

  • The class gets nerfed

  • Another class gets buffed

  • The cycle repeats

This isn’t accidental. It’s a predictable loop that lines up with sales windows, new class releases, and seasonal resets.

The biggest red flag is that cosmetics and progression items are locked to individual classes. That means every reroll requires new purchases. If cosmetics were account‑wide, this entire cycle would lose its financial value.

Calling these patches “balance updates” is misleading when the actual outcome is constant instability. A real balance effort would gradually narrow power gaps and create long‑term equilibrium. Instead, we get extreme swings that conveniently push players into rerolling over and over.

This isn’t about balance. It’s about maintaining a profitable churn cycle.

Players deserve transparency. If the game’s design philosophy is built around rotating metas to drive sales, then it should be acknowledged openly instead of being framed as “balance adjustments.”

Right now, the terminology doesn’t match the behavior, and that’s the definition of a deceptive practice. At minimum, the community should be able to discuss this openly without being dismissed as “conspiracy theorists” when the pattern is visible in the patch history itself.

I mean, in the same announcement a year ago, these fucking retards literally showed how they balanced the classes in 3 functions.

Then, they restricted every single player to an AP bracket on every grind zone in the entire game, which were specifically designed for certain playstyles to prosper completely fucking the game.

Anyone expecting competence not only after the AP Cap changes, but even after the release of Crimson Desert's half finished failure, legitimately needs to seek mental help, because they aren't living in reality.

then why are 90% of new spots hardcapped towerspots? PA gave up and decided to cap income for everyone1 to "balance" all the other changes are purely cosmetic or for the minority loudmouth pvpers who truly will never be happy about anything.

The 5% cap for me is evidence, that they gave up on PvE balance. I'm happy with it because my main is a slow class, and the only grind spots I can compete in trash/h are the Edania spots, due to the cap and spawn limits. So I have no incentive to reroll may main (anymore). Which per OPs reasoning will make PA less money.

get rid of this idea. its not a circle or intended, the developers are just dont know what they are doing at all.

How in the F is your GS so high with only 2 years play time??

I have a great suggestion to blance classes

Get rid of open world PvP that way any balance change they do for PvP does not affect PvE skills and the 98% of the players

They already have PvP servers as in Arsha and the 1 channel on  all servers

Four characters, none of them are even remotely high level, talks about "no reason to reroll anymore", and has dozens of more gearscore with a level that's literally impossible to have that much gearscore from...

Gamble.

Boxes.

Guy's paying for gear, and tries to talk about being fine with PvE Balance.

You right.

Talking about me? I spent maybe 300B silver on gear, not sure where those high T numbers always come from. Did you forget that PA handed minimum 200k cron value, in crons, costumes, and hammers plus free stacks over the last 2 years? I completed my Kharazad three weeks ago, and I'm already back at 15000 crons only from the current event. This paired with average luck, and one lucky 4-tap on my main OCT.

Back to topic, I was thinking to switch my main and tag (DK), due to the bad Succ Nova performance. But the cap really helped here, to not feel like extra wasting time when grinding.
