No, you cannot currently get a free game pass through that way. However there currently is a gifting event going on, where you get a free game pass if another player gifts your family any pearl shop item. If you have any friends in the game, you can ask them to gift you a cheap item from the Pearl store (eg an Elions tear for 20 pearls) and the event will reward you a game pass at the end of the period.
