As we sadly say goodbye to the Summer Season, it’s time to say hello to Season+!

Season+ brings with it easier Tuvala enhancements and the ability to exchange all 7 types of Tuvala Gear for Boss Gear. If you want to learn all about Season+, make sure to read everything below!

Season Server and Character

“Season Servers” are progression-focused servers that are available for certain periods of time. These servers are only accessible with a “Season Character.”

Creating a season character is super simple. Once you’ve logged into Black Desert, go to the Character Selection screen and press the [+] button to see all of Black Desert’s many classes. Once you’ve figured out which class you want to play, select it.

All that’s left is to customize your character to your liking, then check the “Season Character” checkbox and click Create!

Before you go, keep in mind that you can only create one season character per season.

Season Server and Character Perks

  1. So, you’re probably wondering what exactly are the advantages of playing a season character on the season servers. Read on to find out!

■ Season Character Perks

First of all, a season character is the only way you can experience the advantages of the season servers! Plus, season characters receive special level up rewards every time they reach a certain level.

That’s why the Season+ is one of the best ways to level up your character and receive a ton of rewards! Make sure not to miss out!

If you want to learn more about the Season Character Level Up rewards, check out the [Season+ Level Up Rewards] event page.

■ Season Server Perks

1) Boosted EXP Buffs

As the season servers are focused on character progression, they offer 24/7 EXP buffs without limitations on character levels.

2) Season Pass

The Season Pass is meant to support our Adventurers as they progress in the season and is only available to season characters. You can access it from the Black Spirit button at the left of the minimap.

By completing the Season Pass Challenge, you can receive a Leveling Aid Box that will help you as your level up. You can open the Leveling Aid Boxes every 5 levels from levels 10 – 50, and every level from levels 50 – 61.

Here’s a look at two of the featured rewards.

3) Season Exclusive Tuvala Gear

Tuvala Gear is a special kind of equipment that can only be equipped by season characters. PEN (V) Tuvala Gear is similar in stats to TET (IV) Boss Gear. There are two main ways to obtain Tuvala Gear.

Method

What’s Required

How to Obtain

1

Enhance the Naru Gear you obtain from the main questline to PEN (V) enhancement level.

① Go to the NPC Fughar with the PEN (V) Naru Gear

② Exchange the PEN (V) Naru Gear for PRI (I) Tuvala Gear.

2

Collect Tuvala Ore that is obtainable from defeating monsters in Valencia, Kamasylvia, Drieghan, and O’dyllita.

① Bring the Tuvala Ore to a Blacksmith in a major town/city.

② Exchange for your desired Tuvala Gear.

In order to enhance the Tuvala Gear, you will need the following enhancement materials: Time-filled Black Stones, Tuvala Ore, and Refined Magical Black Stone. You can obtain these enhancement materials from various sources, which include monster zones, the Season Pass, and more.

Additionally, we’ve increased the success rates of Tuvala Gear and Accessories in Season+ to help our Adventurers progress further! More details are below at [4. What’s Different in the 2021 Season+!].

4) Season Graduation Rewards

Adventurers who have finished their journey in the summer season servers can expect a special reward to prepare them for the normal servers.

The Season+ is a little special as you’ll be able to start graduating in 2 weeks starting September 29!

Before, let us introduce you to the rewards you can receive via the “Season Special Gift Exchange Coupon.”

Special Season Rewards

(Only One is Selectable)

PEN (V) Capotia Earring or

PEN (V) Capotia Ring

Perilla’s Star

PEN (V) Capotia Belt

PEN (V) Capotia Necklace

Of course, if you’ve already claimed the special season reward previously, you are not able to claim them again since the rewards are limited to once per Family.

We know some of our Adventurers who’ve enjoyed all the seasons so far and received all their rewards might be a little sad to hear this, especially since we previously announced during the Summer Season that there won't be a new special reward. However, we’re preparing a little gift for these Adventurers as appreciation for enjoying all four seasons.

Next up is the Boss Gear Exchange, which allows you to exchange PRI (I) - PEN (V) Tuvala Gear for Boss Gear that is one enhancement level lower. For example, if you exchange a PEN (V) Tuvala Armor, you’ll receive a TET (IV) Dim Tree Spirit's Armor!

The Boss Gear exchanged this way is Family bound, and you can enhance it, strengthen it with Caphras Stones, and even craft Fallen God’s Armor with it. However, you cannot list the Boss Gear obtained this way on the Central Market.

And unlike in previous seasons, Season+ allows you to exchange all seven slots of PEN (V) Tuvala Gear for TET (IV) Boss Gear! Check out the details below at [4. What’s Different in the 2021 Season+!].

Available in the 2021 Season+!

  1. ■ Simplified Main Questline (Existing Adventurers)

The “Simplified Main Questline” returns for our existing Adventurers. You can accept the questline from the NPC Alustin if you fulfill the following requirements.

Requirements Needed for Simplified Main Questline

- Playing a Season Character

- Completed “The Sage of Velia” quest

- Completed “[Pet] Bareeds' Junaid” quest (acceptable once you’ve completed the Mediah main questline)

If you fulfill the requirements above, you will be prompted by a questline selection window to select either the original main questline or the simplified main questline. Keep in mind that once you pick a questline, you can’t change your selection!

* The simplified main questline is only available for season characters and can only be completed once per character.

* The simplified main questline can only be selected on a season server.

■ Season Character Transfer System

What if you created your season character as Class A, but now want to enjoy the season with Class B...?

Don’t worry! Because the Season Character Transfer System is accessible in Season+ and allows you to use “Fughar’s Timepiece” to transfer your season character status and Combat/Skill EXP!

Item Name

How to Obtain

Fughar’s Timepiece

Can be obtained once per Family upon completing the [Season+] Fughar's Special Timepiece quest with a season character that is Lv. 25 or higher!

* Adventurers who obtained Fughar’s Timepiece in the previous season are also able to complete the [Season+] Fughar's Special Timepiece quest during Season+.

* Quests that are in progress or completed on Class A will not be transferred to Class B!

* The Class B character that you wish to transfer the season character status to must be Lv. 25 or lower to be transferrable.

* The Class A character must be connected to a normal server with all their gear unequipped.

Once you’ve used Fughar’s Timepiece, you will receive three exchange coupons (Tuvala Main Weapon Exchange Coupon, Tuvala Sub-weapon Exchange Coupon, and Tuvala Awakening Exchange Coupon) in the transferred character’s inventory after you’ve gone to the Character Selection screen. Use these coupons to change your Tuvala weapons to ones that are suitable for Class B!

■ Party Monster Zones

Want to play with your friends or guildmates during Season+?

The Waragon Nest, Basilisk Den, and Shultz Guard monster zones will be party monster zones during Season+!

What’s Different in the 2021 Season+

  1. ■ QoL Improvements (Updated September 15)

Found it difficult to manage your Inventory with so many items around?

We’ve made improvements by removing some of the items obtainable in Calpheon and Mediah, and changing some of the loot to be obtainable in an item box form. We’ve also added new loot to the Valencia region to improve the profit rate of monster zones there.

Make sure to check out the [September 15 (Wed) Patch Notes] for more details.

■ Easier Tuvala Gear Enhancements (Updated September 15)

To help reduce our Adventurers’ game progression, we’ve made it easier to enhance Tuvala Gear!

First, we’ve decreased the number of Refined Magical Black Stones and durability that was consumed by a guaranteed enhancement of Tuvala weapons or defense gear.

We’ve also increased the chance of obtaining Tuvala accessories from Rift’s Echoes, so you’ll have more chances to enhance your Tuvala accessories!

All these changes come together to make it easier than ever to enhance your Tuvala ear and accessories during Season+!

■ Exchange All 7 Tuvala Gear for Boss Gear (Update on September 29)

Previously, you had to use a [Season] Boss Gear Exchange Coupon, which you can only use to exchange Tuvala Gear for one piece of Boss Gear. In Season+, there is no longer a [Season] Boss Gear Exchange Coupon; instead, you’ll be able to exchange all 7 equipment slots of Tuvala Gear for TET (IV) Boss Gear (that cannot be listed on the Central Market) once per Family. Please take note that this exchange will be available after the maintenance on September 29, 2021 (Wed).

This untradable TET (IV) Boss Gear has a new way to enhance it to PEN (V) with some steady efforts. Existing Adventurers who want to try to enhance a piece of Boss Gear to PEN (V) can exchange a tradable TET (IV) Boss Gear for an untradable TET (IV) Boss Gear once per Family. Existing Adventurers who want to try to enhance Boss Gear to PEN (V) this way can exchange tradable TET (IV) Boss Gear for untradable TET (IV) Boss Gear once per Family for each gear slot. (Last Updated: 09/21/2021 00:30 UTC)

Armor enhanced to PEN (V) this way can be used to craft the Fallen God’s Armor, which can also be listed on the Central Market!

■ Growth Pass Support

Worried about what happens after you graduate from Season+? There’s no need to worry because the Growth Pass will help you progress through Black Desert’s many contents! The Growth Pass will be made available to any Season+ server graduated character, free of purchase. Make sure to check it out on September 29!

We hope you feel ready to start your adventure on Season+!

Happy adventuring!

So..... essentially everyone on the season gets full tet boss at the end. They then can easily pen roulette without the repercussions or the difficulty that everyone else had to go through to get their pens. This way it minimizes the effort long term players
have put in, making a catch up mechanic for all other people... and pearl abyss gets more cash flow by having everyone with boss gear buying artisan memories.... smart, great work........ not

@Whitewoe I completely agree with you.
The veteran players got owned .

@Whitewoe Is that a bad thing?

I have been out from about 2 years but the fact that I can enhance to PEN with less friction is definitely something that will bring me to the game again.
That being said, me PEN vs you PEN does not change the fact that you are skilled than me due to the time commitment you have put into the game.

This is really good for the game content. Remember that long term veterans are a small portion of the game population.

@Whitewoe And veteran players who aren't completely full PEN will have 7 pieces of TET gear to fail stack on for minimal effort. I think the enhancing system in this game is one of the major things that hold it back the most but then Pearl Abyss would
actually have to come up with real content for the game instead of creating new items we have to gamble towards.

@Whitewoe no one cares about veterans what keep the game alive is new players

@Whitewoe Why do people hate catch up mechanics? This is the first step to making this a worth while game for new and veteran players alike. More people that have access to better gear then we are more likely to get more content to do in the future.

@Toshino So nearsighted.
I'm a new player to BD, hoping to sometime become a veteran. But I would not invest my time if I see the developers and the community being a good one for seasoned players, in that case, I would just go elsewhere.

A game does need new players, but it doesn't keep it alive, if you have "veterans" leaving.

Glad to see this before I invest a lot more time into BD.

@Toshino Without veterans the game would be dead already long before. Veterans are the players who helped to build the foundation, that the game survived all the time and that the game is what it is now. So a bit more respect for the veteran players.

@Whitewoe I agree. What made the game great was the pain to grow. Now you grow with minimal effort essentially. It's easy to spot cash grabs like this. I could go roll the season+ and catchup 4 years of hard and expensive effort in a couple weeks. Sweet.
PA needs to give some love to the vets for keeping their server room powered all these years.

@Whitewoe I've stopped playing the game during the afk riding bonus event which overall was the best event the game had in a long time due to free horse upgrade mats, extreme high XP gains, simply because it felt like becoming a bot.
I've never grinded, and I will never put any time into it because it feels like being a zombie. Occasionally I leeched mirumok with clan to get to lvl 62 but that's about it.
This update atleast gives me the interest to look at the game again since it was just beyond insanity farming bosses all day without getting any armor or weapons. I got a single karanda heart from 10 stormbringers, didnt get the required nouver mats during
nouver+ event, I was so done. With the requirements for fallen god armor (which you always keep in mind) this is merely a drop on a hot stone

@MindsEye it is a catch up mechanic. If the average level of the players increases, they can start thinking about creating new content for higher level players. Like the new revamped Bosses. Those are now a pain in the ass, because there are not enough
players with the necessary level gear to fight those. Just an example.
Sep 21, 2021, 22:57 (UTC) 0

@Whitewoe Everyone that makes the Season will get TET boss gear and TRI boss accessories. Is that really a bad thing? What is that gear level nowadays? Lets be realistic, it is nothing. Do not forget about Blackstar gear and Tungrad accesories. (to not
mention Fallen God's, Deboreka and Black Distortion).
IMO this mechanic is a great way of increasing the average gear level. And if the players' base has a higher gear level average, they can start developing even higher gear level "end game" areas. Otherwise it is not worth making those new areas for a few when
90% of the players cannot even battle a beetle there...

@Varana Wholeheartedly agree. I tried doing the season servers after I attempted to give bdo the ol'college try and fell flat on my face, because one, enhancing was a nightmare, two, making silver to get better gear didn't help because at the rate I was
going would've taken me years and that was when I have a part time job (now I'm full-time, there's no way).

Seasonal is more fun and open to players who haven't played bdo as much, lots of new players, enhancing doesn't feel like punishing yourself when you can get more materials without wasting time gathering silver for more tries or god forbid buying pearl related
stuff just to increase your chances, and (a big change) GEAR THAT ACTUALLY LETS ME FIGHT ENEMIES IN PLACES I COULDN'T WHEN THE GAME PUTS ME THERE STORY-WISE.

Can't tell you how much of a turn-off that is in any game. It doesn't drive me to get better, it just pisses me off and makes me think its just plain bad game design. Just shows that they didn't think when certain quests were locked behind level when it should've
been locked behind gear stats so the player wouldn't be struggling to fight 1 monster that's supposed to be the same level as you.

they should of at least give an option for veteran players or players who have worked for full pen to trade the non needed Tet boss that is completely useless into caphras or some other perk for people who have put in the time and effort previously. rather
than just have a bias catch up mechanic

This increasing Pay-to-Win and Welfare system is ruining the game. Veteran players getting the shaft, developers need to work on fixing what is broke and stop trying to make less challenging.
