Altar of Blood

The Altar of Blood is a defense game-mode where you defend the Altar against an enormous number of monsters and bosses in every Illusion stage. 

 

The monsters become increasingly powerful as you ascend from the 1st Ilusion to the 10th Illusion in the Altar of Blood.  

Adventurers that enter the Altar of Blood must defeat all these monsters to prevent the relic from being destroyed.

* The Altar of Blood is the final whereabouts of the Immortal Alchemist, Caphras. Records show that long ago this altar is where human sacrifices were performed for the ancient Kzarka. It was sealed away with the power of the Gem of Balance, and it is said that ultimate power can be obtained through this relic that calls forth dark illusions.

  1. 2. Altar of Blood Rules

- Only a party of 3 can enter.   

- Any character that is level 56 or higher and has completed the prerequisite questline for Altar of Blood can enter the Altar of Blood. 

  The prerequisite questline for Altar of Blood can be received from the Black Spirit with a character that is level 56 or higher. 

- The party leader can enter the Altar of Blood from the ESC menu. 

- At the beginning of each Illusion, the stage will not start if the party leader does not have enough energy.

In this situation, appoint a party member that has enough energy as the party leader to start the Altar of Blood.  

- Leaving the party is not possible in the Altar of Blood. 

- If a character dies in the Altar of Blood, resurrection is possible with the Witch/Wizard’s resurrection skill or the Medical Kit item. 

- If the boss is defeated, all dead characters will be revived and HP will be restored.  

- At every Illusion stage, if all the party members are dead, then the party leader can use a Nightmare Fragment to retry the stage. Otherwise, if the party leader does not have a Nightmare Fragment, then all the characters will be resurrected with full HP, and the party will be returned to the Illusion stage selection screen. 

- Campsite, Maid/Butler, World Map, Quest UI, and Minimap UI cannot be used in the Altar of Blood 

- After the Altar of Blood has ended, select either the Altar of Blood from the ESC menu or Exit button UI in the upper right-hand side of the screen to leave the Altar of Blood. 

- Combat EXP and Skill EXP cannot be gained from defeating monsters in the Altar of Blood. 

- Item Drop Amount/Drop Rate Increase effects do not apply in the Altar of Blood.  

- The party leader can be appointed while the Altar of Blood Retry UI is open, and only the party leader can choose to retry the Altar of Blood. 

  However, the party leader must have a Nightmare Fragment to retry. 


▲Each Illusion’s Boss is quite different from the normal monsters, so watch out!  

 

  1. 3. Altar of Blood Progression 

- After entering the Altar of Blood, the party leader can select the Illusion stage. 

- Once the party leader selects a stage, 100 Energy will be spent and the ‘Guide of the Abyss’ NPC will appear. 

- Interact with the Guide of the Abyss to activate the Altar. This will spend 20 additional Energy. 

- After the Altar is activated, monsters will appear and attack the Altar. Defend the Altar from the monster’s attacks.  

- The boss will appear once multiple waves of monsters are defeated. 

- The Altar will no longer receive damage once the boss spawns.  

- Defeat the boss and spend 20 Energy to move onto the next stage.

  1. 5. Valuable Items for the Altar of Blood

 

  1. 5.1 Medical Kit


▲Medical Kit usage can decide whether or not each Illusion stage is successfully cleared or failed.

Self-Resurrection is not possible in the Altar of Blood. 

However, resurrection is possible with the following:  

(1) Defeat the Boss

(2) Resurrection via the Witch/Wizard resurrection skill

(3) Usage of a Medical Kit to resurrect an ally

 

Make sure to prepare Medical Kits beforehand to resurrect dead party members, as the party will fail the Altar of Blood if everyone is wiped out.




  1. 5.2 Potions

▲ Before entering the Altar of Blood, make sure to prepare the right potions for your character. 

 

Instant HP Potions are essential as the monsters of the Altar of Blood are powerful both defensively and offensively. However, HP and other potions cannot be purchased in the Altar of Blood, so make sure to have enough potions before entering the Altar of Blood.

  • Tips

- The Flare of the Ancient’s effect is only effective in the Altar of Blood.
- All monsters within range will be stunned when the Flare of Ancients is used.

- Certain monsters and bosses in each stage will not be stunned.
- Flare of the Ancients, Dim Origin of Clear Water, Dim Origin of Crimson Flame, and Dim Origin of Earth can be crafted from Processing (L) > Simple Alchemy

  • Tips

- Retry failed Illusion stages by spending a Nightmare Fragment. This saves Energy and reduces clear time.    

- If the party leader does not have a Nightmare Fragment after failing an Illusion stage, then the party leader can appoint a party member who has a Nightmare Fragment in order to retry the failed stage.
