Title: Passive Sailing XP In Local Seas
Family Name: Sulmetheon

Region (NA/EU): NA

Suggestion/Comments:
Please enable passive sailing xp in local seas. It would help new sailors unlock the sailing daily missions, as many are nervous to go into mapless ocean unbidden.

Once again Sulmetheon, thank you for your post.

Jaehee mentioned during the Calpheon Ball that they are planning to make it so sailing EXP can be earned in the shallows seas, but that EXP would be at lower rates than in the great ocean. We hope that this will allow players to power through those early levels of the Sailing Life skill without the fear of Margoria swallowing them whole.

Thank you once more for your feedback.

Nice, we finally get the xp rework every sailor is waiting for... no? ofc not, why would you listen to sailors? Let's buff xp for afk barterers or daily quests... but forget about the ones doing the actual sailing.
it's nice to see suggestiions with almost no likes or visibility making it to feedback board while what players really want is ignored :/

Getting to skilled1 sailing takes less than an hour with a simple sailboat doing the quest meant to introduce you to sailing. You can unlock the daily missions without even owning a boat and just runing from velia to west camp then heidel. There is no need to add sailing xp where there is no need (in bartering). The needed buffs are needed in margoria, but to realize that, you need to understand how sailing really is.

The sailing xp buff is needed when killing sea monsters. And it should be huge regarding how poor xp when sailing and killing monsters is compared to "afk" daily sailies.

This is what I tested on GLabs:

~0.1% sailing for 1min (Skilled 3 level)
PS: Using volante (speedest carrack) and Nol

I would really like to understand why the devs don't do the practice tests. Navigation is the most difficult lifeskill to level up, there is no guru IN THE WORLD. The navigation exp needs to be revised and/or reworked. It doesn't make any sense that it took 5 years to just get guru 1.

I'm M16, I do every possible daily and I still do 5~6 hours of SMH a day to earn 2.5%.

Hello all,

This change has been applied with today's update (December 28). Sailing in normal waters will grant a 25% of the sailing exp you would earn sailing in the ocean:

Updated so that Sailing EXP can be obtained in coastal waters
• Sailing EXP from coastal waters will be 25% of the amount acquired when sailing the ocean.

25% of almost nothing is still nothing. i wonder if you guys even realize how bad it is and yet, you are proud of this change that isn't really one.
We need a huge xp sailing buff from killing margoria seamonsters (crocs, lekra, candi, shark, rust) and one for sailing margoria too.

I have done hundreds of sailing daily quests and sailed around Margoria killing hundreds of crocs... and I only gained like 20% exp at artisan 6.

It should not be that the biggest amount of sailing XP earnt is via doing quests, it should be sailing on the sea. The amount of XP awarded in the Great Ocean is next to none, therefore with the recent addition of sailing XP at a fraction of the amount earnt in the Great Ocean is nothing more than a joke!

Tell me, how many Sailors have Guru sailing?? Why have you made it next to impossible to obtain Sailing XP? All other life skills are able to reasonably obtain enough XP to at least see Guru. With sailing it's almost capped based off daily quests? It needs to be changed and a decent amount of sailing XP needs to be rewarded via... SAILING.

You're clearly exagerating or doing something wrong. Takes only a few months now of questing to reach M1, i have several characters at that level. Quests are the best sailing xp. To the point that i know some sailors that never drove a boat are above M5 just leeching sailies lol

Ofc it's a joke, and no one will notice it. Maybe the ones that did not do the oquilla quest to skilled1 :D
But it's a buff. They did something. too bad they don't play the game or don't listen to the ones who know... Another useless change.
EU tryhard ones up their level through everyday questing and keeping a shit ton of "unreasonable" buffs up. I think they are reaching M20. i love their dedication but it just feels wrong. I even saw someone making afk trips Oquilla/Ratt :D
Lekra and croc grinders are barely m10 with probably 10 times more time spent sailing than those who focus on the daily quests. They're the smart ones. They'll be guru and enjoy the nice -1s cooldown by killing less monsters in the whole process than sea grinders do in a month. lol
