Reasoning: This skill used to be a reliable way to get a brief window of high durrability, and has since had the potency greatly reduced as well as the duration cut in half, the cooldown greatly increased, and a debuff added to prevent chaining several casts together. The debuff to prevent chain PA can now put you in a situation, Red Battlefield for example, where a teammate has cast it near you at an inopportune time, disabling your ability to use your own buff for yourself. This change would allow you to benefit from your own buff more consistently.
i hate too short buffs and buffs that have same duration as cd, both is just stupid. Just remove all that crap or make it permanent.
10-30 second self buffs are stupid if they have an equally short CD, it's just tedium to keep those buffs up. Remove the self buffs and make them passives. Self and group buffs should be a 5 to 10 minute CD and have a major impact like Protected area. This isn't just a wizard issue, this is also an issue with Sorcs and every other class that is not a "support" class. Even Shai's should have a toggle for her talents that just make it on or off, you select the one you want running one offensive one defensive and that's it, this cycling of skills for 30 seconds to help allies is stupid. Then buff shai in other areas to make up for the loss of potential when talent cycling.

While I do agree it would be nice for these to be passives like other classes have and for us to get actual reworks to improve the class. It is pretty clear from what few updatess we have gotten, including today's global labs update, that Pearl Abyss wants Wizard and Witch to be buff providing support classes, so I am suggesting the next best thing. Improved uptime and access to these buffs for the caster themselves while not effecting the uptime for allies recieving them and causing siege players to riot about the classes getting a buff.
On further inspection of other classes, a large amount of classes seem to have innate +10% attack/cast speed for 10 seconds built into enough of their skills to have 100% uptime, even on some of the slower classes. There is no real reason not to give 100% uptime to the caster for speed spell. It isn't as tho there aren't/haven't been other party buffs in the game that have a shorter durration or are less potent for party members than the caster.
its funny how drakania can get caster/valkyrie PA, and then use their own without any problems, and theirs has giga low cooldown for whatever reason, damage reduction starts instantly, it heals them, ....

originally, awake casters had a pretty similar playstyle do drak, then they removed all the damage reduction, nerfed the buffs, and gave every class a grab, a ton of movement, and infinite protections

Yeah...Kind of makes me regret I chose to be a Caster (wizard in my case), I can play either spec, but I always liked Awakening a lot more...Awakening casters have been in the dumpster (put there by PA) for years, and even if they go through with the buffs in the global lab server, it won't fix the main issue, too many grabs and awakening casters are just grab dummies with low PvP damage and terrible class multipliers. Still great for PvE though, not as good as many other classes but, it's enough.
ngl, if there was a general coupon to transfer all my health, breath and strength + combat level and skill points (and progression already made to lvl up said stuff), along with all my lifeskills, even if it costed like 100 bucks (not the bagillion different individual coupons they have now), I'd probably just switch to an OP class and infinitely improve my enjoyment of PvP, and would optimize my grind with 0 effort needed. Maybe just go unga bunga zerker or the ever broken OP Striker.
at least awakened spec needs to have longer uptime for mana shield as we are way more often in melee range.

it is even worse when you look at other classes self buffs and notice they mostly get to have 100% uptime on their 10% attack/cast speed buffs and many of their defense buffs are either 100% uptime or have been made passive.
