Hi
after the patch from 6th February 2025 I run into the following error with my Intel UHD Graphics card, which is part of the n100 processor I'm using:

After searching for a solution for quite some time I'm pretty sure the issue is with the DX9 mode, which is selected when starting the game.
Looking at the desciption from Intel for the N100 up to DirectX 12.1 is supported by that graphics card, but I guess because Intel stopped to differentiate the different versions of the UHD graphics in the adapter name, BDO can't detect that DX support correctly and is just selecting based on the adapter, which seems to be visible in the client logs:

Would it be possible to allow DX 11 mode for modern UHD graphics? The game is otherwise running fine for AFK activities, just that error also pops up when a monitor is powered off and makes it currently impossible to AFK through the night, as it will cause some disconnect with the error on display ;) I'm using the Minix Z100-0dB Fanless Mini PC.
P.S. I already re-installed the BDO client and checked files, issue is happening with both Steam and standalone client. The dxcpl-workaround already mentioned in this forum is also not working.
Hi Saravo,
Hit your Windows button and type "dxcpl" to bring up your DirectX settings. Go to "Edit List" and add BlackDesert64.exe (You can find it in BlackDesert\bin64), then hit OK.
On the bottom of "Message Settings" is a section named "Device Settings". Set Feature level limit to 11_0 and check "Disable Feature Level Upgrade", like so:

I hope that works. Please update me :)
Hi Treeflower,
sadly didn't helped :( I tried on both standalone and steam client installation, but it is still starting up in DX9 with the same messages in the log and the error as posted above. This is how my dxcpl looks:

Hi Saravo,
That looks right. Please also try setting the feature level limit to 10_1 and check the logs to ensure it's attempting to use the right version of DirectX.
If that still does not work, try uninstalling the drivers using the steps from the page: Display Driver Uninstaller
Additionally, (of course) always make sure all other rivers are up to date.
Hi Treeflower,
I tried the thinks you mentioned and also made sure to install the latest drivers again, still no luck. I'm pretty sure that the DX version in this case is hard coded in the client, which is why the dxcpl-workaround doesn't work.

There is this line in the logs "Intel Graphics 515, 520, ..., uhd graphics Use DX9" and because Intel seems to have stopped to name newer integrated graphics card with a number and just call them all "intel(r) uhd graphics" (also visible in their display driver files, had a look ;) ), the BDO client will just always switch to DX9 instead of doing an actual GPU capabilities check during start up.
Thank you for your help, but I think this is as far as we go here and now we jsut can hope that at some point they will implement some proper capability check in the client :)
Make sure to send a ticket to official support about this issue so they are aware of what is going on and can implement a fix where necessary.
Hello Saravo,
Are you Still Faced this issue for i faced it too and can't Solve it too :(
Hello @Al7asafy and @Saravo.
I was planning to buy a mini PC with Intel N150 Processor for the AFK Fishing only. That CPU is also in the same family, a bit better graphics, but similar.
However, were any of you able to fix the issue?
A confirmation that using the N100 or N150 CPU for BDO afk fishing, and the BDO graphics wont crash after overnight AFK fishing sessions, while turning on the monitor back on, would be immensly helpful.
I am also facing this issue with my new laptop , any updates on a fix ??
I'm having an issue with my Ultra 9 275hx where the in game loading screen is there forever and will not fully load into the game. I've tried disabling cores but still not working.
