Good day!

This issue was originally submitted as a support ticket on July 3rd, 2025, with thorough attention to detail. Since then, I have regularly reopened the same ticket to request updates on the bug’s status and any progress made, however, no details have been shared so far.

As of today (October 27th, 2025), the bug is still not listed on the Last Known Issues page.

Notably, in the Global Lab Update on October 10th, 2025 a bug related to "Miss" indicators on Tormenting Spike (S+C) was addressed and subsequently fixed in the NA/EU Live Patch on October 16th, 2025. This indicates that there is already an understanding that the skill behaves incorrectly under certain conditions.

[Impact]: This bug significantly reduces skill effectiveness (~12.4% total DPS loss) and disrupts intended class mechanics, directly impacting gameplay balance and user experience.

[Summary]

- Class: Wukong
- Skills affected: Upheaval (W+C) → Tormenting Spike (S+C)
- Issue: Clones (Shadows) fail to spawn when comboed
- Impact: ~12.4% DPS loss, inconsistent Hair buff behaviour
- Status: Reported July 3rd 2025 → Still unresolved (as of Oct 27th 2025)
- Reproduction: 100% consistent (see videos)
- Correlation: (Possibly related?) "Miss Indicator" bug already fixed Oct 16th 2025

[Steps to Reproduce]

1. Enter Buddha Form.
2. Use Upheaval (W+C).
3. Immediately follow with Tormenting Spike (S+C).
4. Observe that clone shadows do NOT spawn.

Original bug report text, also shared on the official Black Desert Global Lab Discord feedback section:

Hi!

I am one of the main contributors of the Class Hub Discord's Wukong guide and wanted to share a bug on Celestial Nectar with you.

Quite some time ago a combo was introduced, which shortens the animation of S+C if used after W+C. However, doing this, the Celestial Nectar buff misbehaves.

The description of the skill reads:

While in the Fighting Buddha state, using certain skills will either summon a shadow for 10 sec or grant the Wukong's Hair effect that lets you dash towards enemies targeted by your power pole.
-> if you use a certain skill, you gain Hair for 10 seconds, it reapplies on consecutive uses
-> if you dash towards an enemy, Hair should disappear, the clones WILL continue to spawn, however.

This means IN THEORY, if you use W+C, leap to the enemy and then combo into shortened S+C, then Wukong's Hair should proc from W+C and S+C should have its clones spawned.
This does not happen currently.

If you, however, use W+C without Hair active, wait a little and then slowcast S+C, then the Clones are spawned on S+C.
Video Example: https://streamable.com/yf4n0c

If you have Wukong's Hair BEFORE you W+C, then fastcast into S+C, then W+C will have its clones spawned, but S+C will not. If you then use Shift+C, it will spawn the clones instead.

Additional Forum comment: This should be impossible and showcases very clearly, that this sequence does not behave as it should! Either all skills should trigger the clones, or none should!
Video Example: https://streamable.com/k8tr0o

If you have Wukong's Hair BEFORE you W+C, then slowcast into S+C, then W+C AND S+C will have their clones spawned.

Please let me know if you'd like the videos uploaded onto another platform instead.

Thank you for the attention to this matter.

Regards,

Menzies

My assumption as of now is that the "Hair buff eligibility check" for the Shadows on Tormenting Spike is coded into the pre-casting animation. Since that part is removed/skipped during W+C->S+C, the Shadows can never spawn since there is no actual "Hair Buff check" initiated. But this is only an educated guess, based on how Tormenting Spike behaves in different situations.

Additional note: Upheaval (W+C) into fastcast Heaven's Pivot (SHIFT+C) behaves as intended and spawns the clones on a quickcast Heaven's Pivot.

[Request for Action]
• Add to Known Issues page
• Escalate for replication testing and verification
• Prioritise fix alignment with Wukong’s clone and Hair buff mechanics
• Confirm acknowledgement of report linkage to Tormenting Spike logic

I would be happy to provide additional reproduction footage, slow-motion capture, or event logs if required.
Thank you for your continued efforts maintaining class balance and mechanical consistency.

Kind Regards,

Menzies

At the very least, it seems imperative to add this known and reliable bug to the "known issues" list so that players have some resource to learn why their skills are not perfroming as their descriptions state they will. That will let them make informed decisions about how to play the live class instead of being mislead by omitted information.

Great work detailing the issue so clearly Menzi, hopefully devs can take a closer look soon, deserves proper attention.

Issue is still not listed on the Last Known Issues page as of today (11th of November, 2025).

Bug was visible very clearly during the Masterclass Tournament and yet we still haven't seen any traction on this. :(

Has any staff had an opportunity to read this thread? I don't see the issue listed on known issues.

Nothing yet. I have reopened the support ticket that I raised in July once again, however, I was simply reassured that it is under "active investigation". Why it's not in the Known Issues is a mystery to me.

Cue Week 20 of this bug.

Hello BDO staff, Has anyone had a chance to look at this bug report? It is still not on the known issues.

Good day, we are entering week 23 of this bug with no meaningful updates and the issue is still left out from the Last Known Issues, despite similar bugs (for example Maegu's Bristling Sparks bug) being immediately listed and then fixed the very next patch.

My support ticket also receives cookie-cutter responses without any actions following.
