Pearl Abyss attempted twice to implement their PVP system as a core component of the game.
The first attempt resulted in so much cheating and exploiting that it was removed from the game.
The second attempt was a stand alone PVP game that couldn't sustain 10 players.
That's all anyone needs to know to discern how valuable PVP is for BDO. In you listen closely what you will hear over and over and over is..........................
Noone was intrested in Shadow Arena as any kind of PVP content, everyone was after insane amount of silver its was giving for nothing, and someone still askin to bring it back with same insane rewards.
I want to PVE, but someone is in my PVE spot and I am FORCED to PVP.
If PVP was so desired there wouldn't be ONE PVP channel.
You want PVE on that specific spot on that specific channel and you don't want to move, while next door is free, that's only problem of BDO's "pvp for pve".

That doesn't make any sense and is easy to disprove.
If your statement was correct, all you would ever have to do is change channels to the "free spot". It would be MUCH more effective than spending time trying to harass another person out of your spot.
The TRUTH is you are trying to presume the spot is just magically free on another channel.
That's not how the works because it's poorly constructed and not much effort is put into it. For example Bloody Mon is OVERCROWDED on every channel during a drop event while NO ONE is at Elvia Naga.
This is because Naga is poorly designed. The mobs are grouped to an extent that all Tier 4/5 pets are not adequate. You have to wait on spawns and the trash loot is lower than Monestary.
This broken design makes one spot over crowded and the other vacant. That's literally the entire game world.
Aaaah damn, it is slowly dying Again?

Beware, you're using the usual "pve vs pvp" bias...
... BDO is PvPvE. Even on its "pvp channel".

People still go to BM? Dang that is so outdated now by even centaurs for money wise even during the event lmao on NA last i checked it was completely empty during the 100% drop rate event , i saw way more at Turos and AM and even Oluns...
and with new node sistem.. game will die more fast... now, you dont have reason to play and improve your gear...
Why you have to progress in game if almost node wars are caped, and your gear is useless?
Aaaah damn, it is slowly dying Again?

BDO is not an Open World PVP game. Lineage 2 has private servers with 200+ people fighting in mass open world PVP. BDO is a failed concept that didn't work. All it has is a few forum warriors trying to argue people trying to exploit mob feeding so they can PVE is somehow PVP.
Do you even know how guilds competing over an area works? They would kill each other a few times until they realize it's pointless and everyone quits because they are bored.
There are no victory conditions or any way to achieve anything. It's literally pointless and a waste of everyones time.
THAT IS WHY Lineage has 200+ people fighting and BDO doesn't have 5

It used to be in the pre-awa times. Big fights gvg in the open world. Locking down grindspots with multiple parties...until the crybabies came from WoW or other themepark mmos, lured in by the graphics and combat, just to realize that this game is not a themepark mmos. They cried so loud until it was changed. Now it's something in between which is the worse for both sides.

That's right Pearl Aybss REMOVED that from the game because THEY deemed it HARMFUL to their bottom line and the health of the game.
You should have quit the game back then and moved on.
Seems like it's a you problem here. BDO isn't for you.
Good luck in your adventures elsewhere. Bye Felicia
They have removed :
Savage rift
Shadow Arena(even tried making it into its own game)
Altar of Blood
Other content that i have forgotten about probably
nothing comparable with tera, what you name were not in vanilla black desert
in tera they removed at least 2 importants thing from vanilla tera, the noob island and 2 important pvp places, equivalent in black desert it is like if pearl abyss removed nod war, olvia and velia
2023 and 2024 could possibly pose real problems finally. One of the reasons for thes stability is not the quality of the game, but rather the lack of competition. With Diablo 4, Throne and Liberty, and a few other major titles there is a bit of a risk.
If those games just fail BDO is likely to stay where it's at. It's not dead, but it's not booming like Final Fantasy either.
Pertaining to PVP that's more on you. BDO PVP didn't get bad or really change......... ever. Upon release it was terrible and it's been that way ever since. Every single problem identified in the oringal release is still in game or worse.
ALL attempts to improve anything in PVP has resulted in absolutely no improvement to a small downgrade.
Musa/Mae dash where toned down.................... Zerker mobility?
Zerker infinite grab loop................. Ranged grabs?
Protection revamp............. Grab win?
It is unrealistic to believe that PVP is sustainable content in MMO's. This extends far beyond BDO. In all PVP MMO's you will spend 99% of your time on PVE anyway. If you want a PVP game go play a game designed for that, not an MMO.
lol diablo 4 XD
dude diablo hype died with diablo 3, blizzard is only able to sell call of duty from activision, i tell you call opf duty mw2 is bigger threat than diablo 4
blizzard is not anymore the funny company from 90s and 2000 since they merged with activsion they turned into trash only to sell call of duty on battle net XD
the only interesting thing from them it is the drama between microsoft vs sony to buy activision blizzard
look did lost ark is supposed to kill black desert ?
and sorry i am not confident a ncsoft mmorpg will threat black desert, this company suck to manage its mmorpg in west, when tera arriving in west ncsoft was not able to compete in west with good mmorpg, tera, ff 14, guild war 2, elder scroll online push them way from west market
yeah ok, so if you point is black desert is pve game, so what ?
