I finally finished grinding out both my Flame of Despair and Flame of Frost to upgrade my PEN: Blackstar Armor and PEN: Blackstar Helmet to Fallen God and Labreska respectively, and had waited until I finished both so I wouldn't lose out on the set bonus from 4 piece Blackstar until I could make up for it with 2 piece Fallen God bonus. Somehow I never noticed until now that Fallen God and Labreska both reset the maximum durability to 100 and you have to build back up to the 200 by upgrading it all over again. I was super disappointed by this. I actually felt like all my work resulted in somewhat of a downgrade in a way, as I honestly really love the high durability of upgraded Blackstar equipment because I find it kinda annoying to have to put my tent down and repair while grinding.

It's left me wondering though, why was it decided that "upgrading" to Fallen God would reset the maximum durability?

Would it really have been game breaking to get to keep that?

Really disappointed with this like I said, I know it'd be getting my hopes up but I'd like to see it patched to have 200 durability from the get go. I think at the very least that should be the case if you get it from a PEN: Blackstar but I wouldn't mind if people who upgraded from boss gear got that too.

Well, if you get pen god you will have 200 :/

Doing Slumbering Origin pieces from PEN blackstar is waste of time, money, effort, everything. That was your first mistake. 

I think that's completely subjective personally. I really don't understand the stigma surrounding Blackstar gear, or why people seem to be shamed for using it. It's always seemed silly to me.

because obsidian pen = c10 pen boss and c10 pen boss is half price of pen bs, which you plan to later on to turn into god armor thus wasting more silver.

The market cost/value for a PEN: Blackstar armor or helmet is roughly 30-34 billion, and the cost for a PEN boss armor or helmet is 9 - 14 billion, and for c10 about 20 billion in caphras so it's about the same cost if you're buying it from the market. How do you figure this is wasting more silver?

It could actually wind up costing less if you self-enhance and happen to get lucky too, whereas you can't really get lucky with the caphras part of c10 boss gear.

It's not a waste. I failed stack on all my Blackstar armor pieces and everyone went on less than 240 FS. I saved myself so much time and silver by going this route instead of marketplace fighting for Caphras. 

Took all my Caphras out my regular gear and sold them on top of the gear it was best decision I made in my gear progression in BDO. 

Upgraded my Blackstar chest to Fallen god and helmet to Labreska no problem.

I will say this. Obsidian Blackstar is a waste because you are speending an extra 2-3 billion for each piece. Obsidian at IV I think is C6.  Regular Blackstar armor at " V"  is  C10 equivalent and about the same cost or less based on the Caphras market. On a note it looks 100% better to.

I'm am sure it's do to some derpy streamer spewing options as fact like biceptumus likes to do. If we had a dollar for every time these people spouted off incorrectly. Prime example for years we were told "red nose is trash" the reasoning? A minuscule amount of extra hp that has a near zero chance to actually save you from death in a game where death rarely even has a consequence anyways. So people paid billions extra for their dim tree cause someone said so. The final irony being red nose was actually better in the end as it resulted in the cheapest path by a large margin to attain fallen god armor.
