Oh the seasons a perfect thing for already made game that is on the market for a long time, it worked perfectly in Diablo 3, why ? It was finished game, seasons revived Diablo 3, why I'm mentioning Diablo well for contrast, Black Desert is far from being finished, I mean really far, quick example will be look at the world map and to see how many lands are still unfinished, free exploring of the world and you will encounter, invisible barriers, but not just barriers already exiting lands are having real problems with "unpolished" places like really someone forgot to made the level. So the game was and is still in "beta" phase but devs decided to do "season" content that works perfectly for finished game to give old and new players something fresh, I already knew what that meant, milking the title while it can be milked, exiting player base and their actual feedback put in the trashcan, oh I forgot they listen to community, the yelling minority , "disable clowns" or other disgusting garbage like underwear for .....shai aka child class 🤢 🤮 , also they were so busy on working on black desert that they to this day haven't fix remastered mode!!! But hey let's delete your wizard that you have made and give you stupid event share your photos .... and call it a day. I can go on and on about this incompetence, but it's pointless unfortunately there's no real dialogue, and people who really have something to say I think are tired, exhausted from "leaving feedback" . Game like this one has totally mixed player base from photo session players, explorers, casuals, hardcore grinders, plot enthusiasts and many more yet only small percentage is getting anything, and from what I have read they also are not happy.

What would probably be necessary is a shared system between all characters on an account.  That's essentially what gear is and how it should  be handled.  You can move accessories/armor freely.  Which is actually botched by the Tag system.

The tag system is absolutely terrible for the game at this point.  It's only function is to burden the player experience to creating a money sink and montetary system.

In order to keep releasing new classes PA just removed all the barriers.  Which also means the content/point of the game.  So you don't have to relevel or regain skill points anymore.  Now you just play a few hours and you are done.  But that also means your entire progression in those systems is done in a few hours.

The reasons for breaaking that badly is just on paid services.  But it comes at a huge cost to the quality of the game.

Thus they would have to shift to something like a total exp and all your characters are the same level.  That's essentially what shifting equipment does.  It would need to be blocked on Season servers, but it would allow you to play a new class in end game instantly.

In fact it would probably require removing the tag system and universal gear/level.  Which would actually be quite fun for a long time.  It means any gains you make on any character collectively progress your account.

The major thing is you would have true access to play any class at any time with your full gear score.  They could then begin to build up alternative count wide benefits.

Bring back progression to BDO!!!

I'm sorry but I felt it's more appropriate to discuss this with you here instead of the other thread since it kept being derailed from its topic.
Why are you playing a game you're so upset about, what is it that makes you play a game that you dislike so much by a company you dislike so much?

That answer is obvious, but it is your responsiblity to know the answer.  It's a universal answer that applies to everything in life.

I'll give you a hint.  Why do people go to see summer movies even when there are no blockbusters out?  Why do people work jobs they are not content with?  Why do people get into relationships with non perfect matches?

But you're comparing a game to irrelavant circumstances, a game that is supposed to be your source of entertainment yet you dislike so much and it seems like it's causing you what seems to be a lot of discomfort.

For those supposed analogies, it's very different:

1) They go to watch a movie for the purpose of watching a movie, not for a specific movie and it's not necessarily disturbing to them.

2) To make a living since it's a necessity.

3) It's a marriage, not a video game.

Don't misunderstand me, I want you to enjoy the game but I'd definitely leave a game if I disliked it so much.

Criticism and pointing serious problems is essential to make things better, pretending that everything is just perfect with black desert is just a disaster. There are tons of problems.

Obviously if someone is doing constructive criticism it's not because of pure rage/hate everything has a reason. This review is clearly a sign that person who wrote it still cares about this title. Every player has its own reason to play, and like I said, pretending that everything is fine is not going to get us anywhere.

"It's just a game" - well not anymore, times are way different today, for some people it can be main reason to live ( not necessarily bd, but any title). Games are no longer just simple pixel games, games are now complex, and the graphics are definitely on the another level than years before, many people are finding in games the world that they want to live in or they've made character that they love so much, the quote "it's just a game" is loosing any meaning.

The world we live in is not funny place, the growing medium that is gaming industry is bringing a joy in this harsh and sad reality. It is impossible to see this case in just black and white, "don't like it don't play it" - nope this argument is no longer valid. I personally hate this game, but I have my own reasons to stay, do I hate this "game" for no reason oh nooo.... it's long and complicated case. We all have our reasons

Criticism is fine, I criticized some aspects of the game myself on other threads. It's just that all I had yet to see was negativity in the other thread and this thread about the game and the company, which is why I first asked him what are his reasons for still playing in the first post out of curiosity.

Personally, I prefer to have a healthy relationship with a game and that the pros outweigh the cons since it's supposed to entertain me more than just disturb me.

There is another MMO I won't name that for me recently has made the cons outweigh the pros even though I've been a fan for several years of it and its company until then and invested so much money, time and effort into it yet I still decided to just quit it instead of struggling through the mess it was in.

But to each their own, I respect that.

No lets be fair about it and do things your way.  You clearly can't stand the game and critic it.  It doesn't matter what you say.  In accordance to your rules people just assert what the other people's opinion and motivates are.

You completely failed to figure out the real comparison to those examples and everything in life for that matter.  You watch the movies that areavailable.  The same applies to people's job, relationships etc.

The question itself also demonstrates a lack of understanding of the entire gaming market.  As if there is an abundance of MMO's available.  It fails to recognize millions of people are still looking for a good MMO and that's part of the reason why BDO is such a shame.  It's one of the few MMO's that could have been, but will never be.

It's up to you, you have your right to still want to play the game.
I was just interested in knowing what you still like about it.

"A recap of the 7 delightful years of BDO." (Made by someone who has played for 3 months)

The only thing I'm going to give you is DoA grind spots and content since the only thing that really matters to a spot is how much silver you can make. That's very true. But other than that I'm about to rail into you.

Who even thinks about mob AI? This isn't Elden ring it is a hack and slash. Why does mob AI matter? Just kill the thing. I'd be more frustrated that a mob is trying to run away from me than actually fight me.

This is one of the only MMOs left that still lets you progress without holding your hand and they did it in a way where the guy who put in 10000 hours can be on the relatively same level as the guy who put in 100 hours with all the capped content and accelerated progression towards a usable build in PvP.

You can bypass 95% of the game's RNG with the central marketplace since there are people who enhance for profit that will do it for you. The only RNG you experience is in PvP with resists/desync, and things that don't really matter like PvE drops, and RNG patch notes. It's your fault if you start to enhance anything in this game and it blows up in your face.

There's a lot to hate about the direction of BDO but most of your points are null. Just go back to FF XIV. Let the actual BDO players make remarks about how badly they're screwing themselves over with horrible design decisions.
