1. General Feedback
Topic:
Awakening Tamer QoL and PvP/PvE Balancing
Concern:
Awakening Tamer’s toolkit lacks cohesion and effectiveness across both PvP and PvE. Outdated mechanics and underperforming skills limit her ability to compete with other classes in the current meta, making her playstyle feel restricted and less rewarding.
Implications:
Awakening Tamer is a good PvE class overall but struggles significantly in specific high-end grind spots like Dekiah Lantern, where weak AoE and poor sustained damage hinder her efficiency. Heilang, her defining pet feature, contributes little utility or damage, further diminishing her identity as a "pet class."
In PvP, Tamer’s mobility is well-protected and balances fairly with her unprotected combos. However, her damage output is low compared to her extreme squishiness, as one of the squishiest classes in BDO. This results in Tamer often being one-shot, in the tank heavy meta combat, while still struggling to kill enemies, even with perfect execution of combos. Players often avoid using certain skills due to their lack of protection, outdated functionality, or scaling that fails to match the demands of modern gameplay. These issues collectively reduce her viability, leaving her behind other classes that have stronger tools, better scaling, and more forgiving mechanics.
Suggested Solution:
Rework Awakening Tamer’s skills to improve her overall performance and class identity. Increase critical hit rates for PvE relevance and adjust the damage of key PvP skills like Resonance and Allround Spinner. Add consistent protections, such as Super Armor or Frontal Guard, to high-risk PvP skills like Legendary Beast Claw and Heilang: Howling. Enhance Heilang’s scaling and utility to bring back the "pet class" identity, ensuring it has a meaningful impact in both PvE and PvP.
2. Specific Skills
Skyreach (S + E)
Concern: Skyreach is not usable from non-Awakening stance without the hotbar.
Implications:
Players lose mobility and strategic options compared to past iterations when Cloud Stomping offered this functionality.
Suggested Solution:
Make Skyreach usable from non-Awakening stance by pressing S + E
Legendary Beast’s Power (Shift + Space)
Concern:
Limited Super Armor during movement, leaving the skill vulnerable at the start and end.
Implications:
The skill often feels punishing to use in combat due to frequent interruptions from AoE attacks thanks to the missing SA at the beginning and end of the skill.
Suggested Solution:
Provide Super Armor for the entire duration of the skill while moving.
Fortune’s Blessing (Passive)
Concern:
The passive (+25 LT and +50 HP) does not align with the class's mobility-focused playstyle.
Implications:
This outdated passive offers minimal combat utility and fails to complement Tamer’s need for high mobility and stamina management.
Suggested Solution:
Replace the passive with +300 Stamina to better complement the class’s mobility needs.
Legendary Beast Claw (Rabam Shift + Z)
Concern: The skill’s partial Super Armor leaves it too risky to use in combat.
Implications:
Players avoid this skill due to its unprotected startup animation and limited utility.
Suggested Solution:
Grant full Super Armor for the skill’s entire duration to make it a viable option.
Resonance (Rabam Shift + X)
Concern:
Lacks damage output due to missing 100% critical hit rate and significant PvP damage reduction.
Implications:
Resonance is underutilized as its current damage and lack of critical hit rate make it ineffective in both PvP and PvE.
Suggested Solution:
Add 100% critical hit rate and reduce PvP damage reduction from -49% to -40% (PvP only).
Heuklang: Berserk (Awakening E-Buff)
Concern:
The current buffs are outdated and do not complement the class’s identity.
Implications:
The buff is rarely utilized and overshadowed by other E-Buffs, offering little value in both PvP and PvE situations.
Suggested Solution:
Rework the buff to provide the following effects:
- Cooldown: 3 minutes
- Duration: 30 seconds
- Effects: +20 AP, +15% Attack Speed, +15% Move Speed, +30 % Ignore All Resistance
Allround Spinner (Shift + RMB)
Concern:
Extremely high PvP damage reduction (-79.2%) renders the skill ineffective.
Implications:
Despite its Frontal Guard, the damage is nearly nonexistent in PvP scenarios.
Suggested Solution:
Adjust the PvP damage reduction to -60% to improve its viability.
Heuklang: Howling (Hotbar)
Concern:
The skill has no protection, a long cast animation, and limited utility.
Implications:
Without protection, the skill is rarely used in combat as it leaves Tamer highly vulnerable. Its slow animation makes it impractical in fast-paced PvP scenarios.
Suggested Solution:
Add Super Armor (SA) to make it usable in fights.
Summon: Heuklang (Hotbar)
Concern:
Pet damage scaling is ineffective and does not align with modern class standards.
Implications:
The pet’s damage is negligible in both PvP and PvE, undermining the "pet class" identity that Tamer represents. This makes the pet feel irrelevant in combat scenarios.
Suggested Solution:
Rework pet scaling with proper AP and accuracy stats while keeping the critical hit rate at 0% initially. If damage remains inadequate, buff the critical hit rate to 50%. Optionally, allow the pet to deal player damage to bypass high monster DR.
Celestial Bo Staff Training (LMB)
Concern:
The skill’s accuracy rate increase of 6% is insufficient to counteract modern evasion builds, diminishing Tamer’s identity as an anti-evasion class.
Implications:
Awakening Tamer’s accuracy has been effectively nerfed since the original hit count changes. Current mechanics make it difficult to compete against high-evasion classes, as Tamer’s accuracy buffs are limited compared to other classes. For example, Awakening Nova achieves a 28% accuracy rate through skill accuracy and evasion debuffs, while Awakening Tamer can only achieve 30.5% with a 5% accuracy passive and all buffs active. Additionally, many players skip using Echo Pierce in combos, further reducing achievable accuracy to 27.5%, which is not competitive.
Other classes with accuracy passives reach higher rates, such as Awakening Lahn (33.5%), Succession Tamer (36.5%), and Awakening Dark Knight (36.5%). This disparity effectively eliminates Tamer’s intended advantage against evasion builds
Suggested Solution: Increase the accuracy rate of Celestial Bo Staff Training to 9% (from 6%) and apply a similar buff to Skyreach for consistency. This adjustment would restore
Awakening Tamer’s ability to compete against evasion classes and align with the accuracy bonuses of other classes in similar scenarios.
BSR Skybound Stab (F)
Concern:
The BSR version of Skybound Stab is not viable as an alternative to BSR Allround Spinner, which locks the player in place, making them highly vulnerable.
Implications:
BSR Allround Spinner, while dealing high damage, roots the player in place for the duration of its animation. This is especially punishing for Tamer’s squishy nature, as it leaves them open to counterattacks. In contrast, BSR Skybound Stab allows for more mobility, but its damage is too low to serve as a realistic alternative. As a result, players are forced to use BSR Allround Spinner despite its risks, often leading to deaths in PvP scenarios.
Suggested Solution:
Buff BSR Skybound Stab by adding 100% critical hit rate in PvP and increasing its damage output moderately. These changes would make it a viable alternative to BSR Allround Spinner by offering a less risky option that better aligns with Tamer’s need for mobility and quick engagements.
3. Quality of Life Improvements
Suggestion:
Improved Visual Feedback for Buffs/Debuffs
Details:
Add clearer visual indicators for Heuklang’s active effects and debuffs to help players gauge combat readiness. For example: give Heuklang a different glow effect depending on the stance it is in.
4. Bugs/Issues
Issue: Heilang’s AI Responsiveness
Details: Heilang frequently fails to respond or execute commands during combat, especially in large-scale battles.
Suggested Fix: Improve Heilang’s responsiveness and ensure commands are executed reliably.

Thanks alot for sharing this feedback.
Now lets hope pa does something proper out of it ^^
Nice post! Fully agree.
Since is not mentioned in the post, I'd like to mention that in my opinion is key for the future development of awakening tamer which is the interaction between Legendary Beast Dance and Legendary Beast Dance Echo.
First of all a bit of context of how these skills interact:
When "Legendary Beast Dance" is used, it grants an elemental aspect buff that enhances the subsequent use of "Legendary Beast Dance: Echo." This means that activating "Echo" during the 60-minutes buff period will result in attacks that correspond to the active elemental aspect, providing strategic advantages in combat. For example, using "Echo" with the White Tiger aspect active will unleash an attack with the capability of -DP on target and knockdown control effect. Each "Echo" gives different effect and animation based on which "Beast" from "Legendary Beast Dance" is selected.
This synergy allows Tamers to adapt their combat style by selecting the appropriate elemental aspect to exploit enemy weaknesses or to apply specific debuffs and crowd control effects during battles.
BUT
These cause many incovenients since you barely never have the effect you want to have previously selected. In both scenario PVE and PVP.
The case of PVE is very clear. Most people use "Legendary Beast Dance-Azure Dragon" once and then proceed to block the skill for an hour so you can't use it again by mistake and lose the "Echo" effect that is more desired. This basically means you are forced to don't use a skill.
In case of PVP despite the idea of having multiple variance of the same skill is good, in the practice it is very incovenient.
First of all, everytime you die the "Echo" effect dissapear, which means every time you respawn, you are forced to use a "Legendary Beast Dance" skill in order to have "Echo" available.
Then, "Echo" with the White Tiger effect is the only Knockdown for PVP that Awakening Tamer have available in that stance. In order to use it you are forced again to have always selected the "White Tiger" effect making Awakening Tamer unable to use other effects that are situationaly more convenients.
If we talk about protections, non of these skills have any kind of protection. Particulary "Legendary Beast Dance" has access to a core effect that grant Superarmor to the skill. However, is noted that the skill's animations are relatively slow and have limited area of effect (AOE), which can make it challenging to land hits against everyday more agile opponents. This is relatively fixed on "Echo" skill since the AOE effect are bigger in most of the situations.
So after some considerations I'm proposing these possible changes:
-Make the buff that make Tamer available to use "Echo" don't dissapear in case of death.
-Move the core effect from "Legenday Beast Dance" to "Legendary Beast Dance Echo"
-(My favorite) Full eliminate "Legendary Beast Dance" since is kinda outdated skill, move the Core to Echo and make it work like "Legendary Beast Dance" is working currently (keyboard commands). Create a new skill in the slot of "Legendary Beast Dance" with Superarmor and good damage. No cc.
QOL, let us name our Heilangs
