More ways to obtain dye's sounds pretty fun. I think it would be cool if there were more ways to obtain dyes either from in-game events or permanent methods like the loyalty shop.

I think giving more access to permanent dyes could be a very fun improvement to the game that could make the game seem more fashion centric.

(Even though merv's pallete exists, getting random perma dye's seems kinda fun to me.) 

Most F2P games have it as a paid service, and bdo is basically a f2p game.

Yeah in sub based games it's free, but if you paly bdo as a sub based game, it's free aswell (vp).

I agree with CatDK, while the dye system could be improved (like letting us save dye presets rather than having to re-dye everything every time we want to swap pallets), the VP does acts as our monthly subscription. This is a free-to-play MMORPG so they have to entice players to pay for it somehow and the VP is one of those ways which makes the most sense and honestly it's not that bad of a deal for what you get out of it.

Now, before anyone here says "it's not free to play, you have to buy the game for $0 ~ $10 depending on the month." let's just keep it simple and leave all semantics aside because in the scope of things, it's pretty much a free-to-play game and it's a lot easier to carry out the discussion like this :P

I would love more ways to get permanent dyes. Just let me buy individual dyes! I don't use Merv's Pallette because 1) of its temporary nature and 2) for me I like what PA does with male, ship, and horse cosmetics and their colours. Had to use some dyes twice, once for a Ranger outfit and once for a horse armor. 

But I also understand the enticing nature of Merv's Pallette and RNG permanent dyes though I belive it is a anti-player practice. I didn't know people who use Merv's have to re-dye everything without pre-sets as Tooshaitopost said >.<  That's not enticing a VP purchase, thats just plain mean!

Lowkey. Merv palettes is whats saving value pack. At least to me. The rest of the functions that value pack offers are.... You can live without as you can with dyes but dyes feel... Personal. Tax income can make you bit more bang for buck and can help with making 2~3 bil more from sales but lets be real here. You can make that silver you lose back. (if you sold something without a value pack)
Distant node investment it saves time i guess. It's somthing. 
Mount exp... That's honestly a big and predatory thing too. Mount exp is by far the worst stackable thing in the game in regards of exp. You also can't get better exp options with fiery celerity draught since no one does horse racing (dead content)... 
worst meaning it feels it barely affects horse training; it still takes hours if not a whole day to train a horse to level 30. Killing the content that specifically horse trainers enjoy. Then also kills the market for horses.

I agree, Merv's is the only reason I use the VP too. I think the introduction of the new RGB slider where you can save your own custom colors just knocks the old RNG dye system out of the water. Might as well make them obtainable in-game through events or some kind of grindy treasure item at this point, people will still use the VP as long as it's the only way to access the custom color palette.
