I'ts posible to include ChatGP3 Technology in Black Desert online?

I see anothers games that start including this to generate amazing experiences from MMO Games. What do you think??

Thanks

I asked ChatGPT3 how we can use it in BDO. Some are good, some are just plain brain broken.

ChatGPT3 - P1: Assistance Tools

It's possible but you must understand that using chatGPT or any A.I. model right now is very expensive. A single question can cost between $0.002 - $0.004. Presently it is not viable to include an A.I. service but it may be possible when the cost is substantially reduced. The chatGPT servers cost several million dollars per day to host. Azure does provide ML capabilities through an API which PA could use, it would still be very expensive.

We can dream that one day A.I. can be NPCs and provide help with knowledgebase things but until then, F1 and F2 :)

Provided PA has the hardware infrastructure (which they should) - their only costs to run a language model would be employment costs x electricity. I don't think they should/would use OpenAi's model or any external model - especially when it comes to knowledgebase assistance which they will have to train themselves on their own (BDO related) data. The first ideas gpt spit out (basically a chatbot for bdo's knowledgebase), shouldn't be that hard to implement and revolutionize the way information is disseminated in an MMO.

All of the other system-related features (such as dynamic quests, npcs, world events, enemies) seem like a pipe dream at this point because a)they haven't been (successfully) implemented in any game so far and b)they would take a crazy amount of R&D to deploy successfully (when you can just wait for someone else to establish working models later and skip the R&D time and costs entirely).

(IMO) What PA can use the current ChatGPT3 Model (by OpenAi) is to write better events. Since they dont have the time and capacity to write narrative events, they can use gpt to do it for them (with the free version), so that we can have more story events instead of the droprate x worldboss x buff copy-pasta.

There is nothing hard in implementing dynamic quests, npcs, world events, enemies, etc. There is simply no reason to do so since it simply doesn't add significant value to an mmorpg.

I have to admit, that I learn an awful lot from players already.  I don't know if hanging out with a helpful AI is the best thing ever.  AI's cool to think about, but I love the human element in this game.

Fixed and premade dynamic events that get drawn/combined from a premade pool of variable isn't hard indeed. I'd disagree that they add nothing, as they are one of the many things that make open-world players swarm on a single activity - at least that's what they do in GW2, destiny, LA etc.

Machine learning events that learn from premade pools and create their own variables and implement them practically is hard. Very hard. It's the holy grail of in-game interaction that I am sure many big gaming companies have been working on for years - PA _not_ being one of them. It will come to every game eventually (in 5-15 years), the bugs in deployment will be hilarious, and eventually it will make (MMO) game worlds even more living than ever.

Yes, I agree, it will [mostly] eliminate the need to interact with other players to transfer knowledge. That's not a bad thing though, it will not eliminate the human element just as such software-assistance apps haven't IRL. It would just free up time/resources to have a human element in other aspects of the game (such as actually playing the game mechanics together).

if u develop the software, pay the cost and sign your right off to PA, maybe they will consider

Well, there are many alternatives to chatGPT available for free. The problem is the cost of operation. For example, chatGPT uses the GPT3.5 model (until next which which will be GPT4) and GPT3.5 requires about 800-900GB of VRAM. You would also need a lot of CPU power and other hardware to support this. A single TESLA GPU is over 12 grand each and it won't get you near enough vram to run a single instance of chatGPT. In order to run one instance of chatGPT it requires a hardware setup that cost over $100k and then the electricity is no joke, and there's hardware failure and people to maintain it etc... That's why A.I. in the cloud is a thing but you still have to pay for every x amount of tokens.

Microsoft provides an API for chatGPT and other openAI products but it wouldn't have much of a purpose in BDO. I agree that they could just use chatGPT to generate ideas but to make it a part of the game seems unnecessary IMO. Dynamic NPCs with A.I. is possible using Microsoft chat bot / converational A.I. though. That's how they do it for that one space sim where you can talk naturally with NPCs. (Forgot the name)

Personally I'm not looking forward to a day where you're not sure if other people in the game are actual players or bots espeically if they start including NFTs. >.<

You are overblowing the costs of running an ML by a lot, without considering the following facts:

1. PA probably has an insane hardware infrastructure that already runs other [gpu] intensive tasks which probably sit idle a good chunk of the time. It would probably make one of those 100k Tesla sets you are quoting look like commodore64s.

2. The costs/specifications for running the ML model you are quoting here are for running the models which are servicing 10s of millions of users per day - in BDO it would serve up to 30 000 {assuming EVERYONE is using it at once}. The ML specifications you are quoting also need to learn a much greater knowledge base to be able to produce coherent content on a variety of topics. This knowledge base would be much smaller for BDO.

3. Let's not ignore the fact that they wouldn't be doing it from scratch, but instead frankensteining a system that will be as close as possible to their needs - therefore skipping a lot of the R&D and pre-m-learning processes.

4. As I initially stated, the best use for chatGPT in BDO [for now] would most likely be knowledgebase consolidation. Imagine having a chatbot inside of bdo that you can ask anything about the game in a variety of noncohesive ways (ie. "Oi BlackSpiritGPT3, I miss a lot in Crypt, how I hit moar?"). Every other "game-system affecting" ai is just a pipedream that no current MMO company will be insane to risk both developing or implementing before someone builds a solid proof of concept [either in a lab or in an indie release]

Personally I'm not looking forward to a day where you're not sure if other people in the game are actual players or bots

How can you be sure now? It's insanely easy to pad the game's numbers with bots. It also should be quite easy for BDO as the developer of the game to create fully functioning bots that play the game like a player (grind, lifeskill etc). Also, chatbots have been cracked years back, so making one that responds to DFSs and other things properly should be a whiffie for them. Have you not seen how 33% of the playbase behaves in AoS? Those people that don't even respond, do sure act like robots...

To be honest, I'd rather interact with an artificial human that actually communes instead of some of the spectrum on which [some] Bdo players are. Not saying I'm not, but at least my violence/anxiety vector aint that strong :D .

Also, nobody mentioned replacing players with bots, idk where that idea even came into your mind. The game-evolving thing that gpt can bring is dynamic npcs, but that's far in the future for the reasons mentioned above. Also, PA is always behind the curve, so it's even further for BDO.
