I get that people have been saying that there is too much damage in the game and i fully agree to that but trying to solve it with these new Hooms, the Haetae and the Frozen cold crystals is just absolutely stupid.

These new crystals they added to KR today are totally crazy If you are already on a class which greatly benefits from having a defensive setup because your skill buffs and/or your class modifiers allow it. Mainly classes that can make use of evasion hyrbid will be a problem.

If you are using 4 hooms already right now all you will have to do is upgrade them to the new Hooms, put in 2 extra Frozen cold crystals on the new slots and swap 1 of your current crystals to a Haetae. This will grant you a total of +59 evasion, +42 dr, +380HP Compared to having the current hooms. This does not even include tri/tet gloves.

Even right now most evasion classes out there which allow a hybrid build can with "just" 281 ap get a normal standard AP/DR build with 410 dp down to 30% or less in 1 combo. While the other way around very often the AP player can only get the evasion player down to 50%. Yes the obvious answer here is "get accuracy", but these are all 150b per accessory and you need several for it to really matter.

Adding these crystals without any adjustments will make these hybrid builds go rampage.

What i'm wondering is why do these evasion hybrid builds get to double dip on these stats? It makes absolutely no sense that if you are going for an evasion hybrid build that you also gain an absurd amount of DR in ways like this.

If you are a more squishy class that uses (or is even forced to use in some cases) DR/accuracy gear, these crystals are not even an option for you as they will not give you any real benefit. You won't get enough evasion for it to matter, not even against leebur users and you won't get enough DR from them because the DR scaling in this game is just garbage unless you are on something like valk, nova or zerker.

But for an evasion player that 42 extra dr they get is just a flat out huge gain ontop of the extra evasion.

Some options to solve the issue without touching any classes itself, changing anything PVE dmg wise or adding more ap/accuracy into the game are:

* Split these new crystals into DR ones and Evasion ones

* Remove the accuracy from evasion items such as centaurs and split them into half for hybrid items like Sicil. They are defensive items after all.

* Increase the DR on bhegs

So evasion is getting more evasion + DR? Double dipping basically.

At times like these I regret not having gone for an evasion class...Fortunately, Wizard is Hybrid and can do both, so I will be one of those that will double dip on those stats, but never as good as a truly evasion focused class, so anyone with half decent accuracy will still shred my evasion...However, it doesn't really matter too much on wizard, since, well, class modifiers and all, it could be +100 DR and it wouldn't make a difference in PvP, but in PvE the buffs mentioned by OP with just the crystals, it'll be a massive boost... *sigh* If only DR was actually viable without needing ridiculous amounts...

On other hybrid classes with decent class modifiers, I agree, this is a big buff

wizard isnt exactly eva viable, but equally sucky with both gear sets. :D it basically has poor mans dr perormance with mana shield up with bigdrawback of it using mana, and its evasion is kidna criminal due to not having % eva selfbuffs or passives.

I guess eva build + green offhands are new meta. eva offhand(vs dr players), acc(vs eva players), ap(for pve). Nice, cheap and OP build :)

I know, but, better use evasion for the offchance of a missed strike against me than try to DR tank it when multipliers basically make my DP % reduction = between 0%-10% anyway. The DR base stat is just a small added bonus, mostly useful for PvE as all DR anyway.

Yeah too bad if you don't have eva offhand neither eva passives, but PA balancing over there...

I think the biggest problem is that gear gives so much hidden evasion and practically no hidden DR.

DUO FG for example gives 48 (+128) Evasion and only 57 (+32) DR. 

 This causes a huge imbalance as the gear is really only benefitting Evasion players. When you look at the stat window most people have less accuracy, than their opponets Evasion. This is why Evasion builds are tanky, whereas everyone always has more AP, than their opponet's DR.

That's why DR is so squishy.

The issue is if they add hidden DR to everything, then Evasion builds will be even tankier. This is why there should be more DR on SPECIFIC pieces.

Dahn's Gloves for example.... the DR/Accuracy ones should have a lot more DR than they currently do and sacrifice some Evasion.

Kutum has a ton of Evasion 

Blackstar off hand should be DR....not Evasion

Nouver should have a lot more DR and be the "DR" boss offhand

they need to separate DR and Evasion stats more.

either that, or another thing they can do is add MORE DR Brackets.

401 is the cap at 30%.....

with all of the recent gear you can easily reach 420+sheet DP

they can increase the DP Brackets up to 40%-50%.

This could help, but again the problem is Evasion builds will be even tankier.

The way PA has done gear Evasion vs DR is such a mess.

Evasion classes are tanky as hell and do the same, or more damage than DR classes.

Its complicated as hell, but they dont care to fix it. They just want to keep releasing more classes for "marketing hype"

fun fact, sicil used to have 0 accuracy way back, people cried.
